[Bug 1508573] Re: X11 keeps booting in failsafe mode due to xorg.conf having the nvidia set as primary GPU.
hi there. I managed to fix this by installing the nvidia-prime package and tweaking the bumblebee config files a little. this is weird though since on previous versions of ubuntu the installation of the nvidia-prime package used to break bumblebee, but the same thing that breaks it apparently fixed it too. My Geforce GTX840M still can't run on the nvidia itself (using prime-select) but bumblebee works, so it's not a big deal anymore. Bumblebee is however broken when I put my laptop to sleep mode, since the discrete GPU is turned off but doesn't get back on again. a reboot fixes this, but that's for another bug. Do you still need the xdiagnose information? because I will happily provide it for you since I've had so many issues with hybrid graphics before and I really want this solved once and for all! I guess vulkan will fix this soon. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1508573 Title: X11 keeps booting in failsafe mode due to xorg.conf having the nvidia set as primary GPU. [Bug 1508573] Re: X11 keeps booting in failsafe mode due to xorg.conf having the nvidia set as primary GPU.
there is a workaround to this. install the nvidia-prime package and type "sudo prime-select intel" this will force the intel GPU. [Bug 1236850] [NEW] qtcreator opens 5 new not responding windows when clicking the develop-tab at the home screen
Public bug reported: terminal output: void DBusMenuExporterPrivate::addAction(QAction*, int): Already tracking action Follow Symbol Under Cursor under id 135 this message occurs when clicking the develop tab at qt-creator's home screen, at the same time it opens up 5 new windows that don' t respond to anything, you can use the first created window to program, it works perfectly fine, but it's pretty annoying having 5 bogus windows, which apparently all belong to a single proces, since the windows can't be induvidually killed, and they disappear when closing the first created (responding) window. [Bug 954296] Re: network speed drops after a certain amount of time
update: today i've shifted my pc 10 inches and placed one antenna onto the metal frame of my desk, and the other one layed down on the floor, for some reason i was able to manage a stable 1,4MB/s connection for over an hour after that speed dropped again maybe 20 inches will do it? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/954296 Title: network speed drops after a certain amount of time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/954296/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 954296] [NEW] network speed drops after a certain amount of time
Public bug reported: I cannot access the internet in any way until I reconnect with my access point, after reconnection I only have about 40 seconds to download/upload stuff or the speed will drop to 800 bytes a second. the pc reports i'm still connected, but I cannot load any page or download anything. this is only the case with THIS computer (linksys WMP600N dual-band PCI network card) it didn't happen before the 12.04 upgrade and it DOES happen with a different wireless adaptor, although my laptop (also ubuntu 12.04) doesn't have this issue. i've added a picture of my system-monitor showing the network speeds just after (re)connection [URL=http://img10.imageshack.us/i/screenshotfrom201203131.png/][IMG]http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/1294/screenshotfrom201203131.png[/IMG][/URL] ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: network-manager 0.9.2.0+git201202161854.8572ecf-0ubuntu7 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-18.29-generic 3.2.9 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-18-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 1.94.1-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 Date: Tue Mar 13 19:12:00 2012 IfupdownConfig: auto lo iface lo inet loopback InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal - Beta amd64 (20110330) IpRoute: NetworkManager.state: [main] NetworkingEnabled=true WirelessEnabled=true WWANEnabled=true ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=nl_NL:en LANG=nl_NL.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: network-manager UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to precise on 2012-03-13 (0 days ago) nmcli-con: NAME UUID TYPE TIMESTAMPTIMESTAMP-REAL AUTOCONNECT READONLY DBUS-PATH GW12CONNECT5GHZ aee9f365-6b91-40be-8034-aa66387ccaa3 802-11-wireless 1331662300 di 13 mrt 2012 19:11:40 CETyes no /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/Settings/2 Auto ethernet 7d6433cd-bcbf-4ba6-95d9-641c4d6e2d52 802-3-ethernet1315484553 do 08 sep 2011 14:22:33 CEST yes no /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/Settings/0 nmcli-dev: DEVICE TYPE STATE DBUS-PATH wlan0 802-11-wireless connecting (configuring) /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/Devices/1 eth0 802-3-ethernetunavailable /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/Devices/0 nmcli-nm: RUNNING VERSIONSTATE NET-ENABLED WIFI-HARDWARE WIFI WWAN-HARDWARE WWAN running 0.9.3.0connecting enabled enabled enabledenabled disabled ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/954296 Title: network speed drops after a certain amount of time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/954296/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 447104] Re: ubuntu 9.10 freezes when switching to battery power
** Description changed: I upgraded my toshiba satellite from ubuntu 9.04 to 9.10 beta. since the upgrade the pc fails to boot on battery power. when i boot it with the ac/dc-adapter plugged in, it runs fine. pulling the adapter out of the computer leads to a crash. the system freezes ant won't respond at all. i already tried setting acpi off in the boot-settings but this doesn't help. since this issue didn't occur in 9.04. i will see it as a bug, not as an only-on-my-pc issue please help. on my toshiba sattelite only: in the last update the following happens! on AC: flawlessly on battery: won't boot in normal mode, but afterwards i chose the recovery-mode it boots up in the recovery-menu i choose resume immediately and it takes me to the log-in screen. after logging in, I HAVE TO KILL THE NM-APPLET BEFORE IT'S CONNECTED. this will make my laptop run stable on battery power, pulling out the adapter when the system is booted still ends up with a frozen PC + + edit: 12-02-10 + the LINUX-2.6.31-18-kernell solves the problem on my pc. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Fix Released -- ubuntu 9.10 freezes when switching to battery power https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/447104 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

i don't have the console, but when i boot it in recovery-mode (so i can watch where the problem is) it freezes while saying: loading apparmor profiles. can i turn those off? because in a few occasions the laptop DID boot on battery power. but after a reboot it still doesn't! -- ubuntu 9.10 freezes when switching to battery power https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/447104 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
