[Bug 529233] Re: editing locations to the clock applet, keyboard navigation closes the dialog unexpectedly
The current theme in Maverick shows that indeed there is some ambiguity regarding the selected button when navigating this dialog using the keyboard: the Close button is constantly highlighted in bright orange color on it all the time, and stays highlighted when the Tab key is pressed. Other buttons get highlighted with an orange frame around them, that moves from one button to the next upon pressing Tab. The bright orange button face seems to be associated to pressing Enter, and the orange frame seems to be associated to pressing Space Bar. -- editing locations to the clock applet, keyboard navigation closes the dialog unexpectedly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/529233 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 529233] Re: editing locations to the clock applet, keyboard navigation closes the dialog unexpectedly
First I have to say that I get the impression that the program doesn't really crash, but simply closes due to some error in the default action linked to pressing the Enter key. I tried to follow the instructions and didn't really succeed. I'm not sure I was doing it correctly. [Bug 533165] [NEW] changing sound volume using scrollwheel doesn't work
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-applets I'm testing Lucid Alpha 3 with the latest updates on a Virtualbox 3.1.4 virtual machine (windows XP host). package version: 2.29.5-0ubuntu1 In all Ubuntu versions I used until today (5.04 onwards) I was able to change the volume by pointing on the volume control icon on the panel and scrolling up or down. However, when the mouse pointer is on the link the paragraph breaks and the link moves to the left end of the line, and goes on to jump between the two places over and over until I move the pointer elsewhere. (2) later in that page there is a paragraph with two links in the first line, one in Hebrew (ואני עוקב) and one in English, wicd. The English link is displayed on the wrong place, it's in the left end of the line but it should be somewhere in the middle. [Bug 196277] Re: [hardy] keyboard layout switching shortcut doesn't work after reboot
Frantisek Fuka, here is a translation of instructions from an Israeli forum on how to fix this issue. It worked well on my machine, switching between English and Hebrew with Alt-Shift. Auto-login on. I can't be sure it will work with Czech, but I think it's worth trying: 1. Go to System -- Administration -- Language Support and make sure that support for complex characters is UNchecked (I also added Hebrew support there, I have no idea why it wasn't there already, I thought I added it after I installed Gutsy. Although the original instructions didn't mention it, I thought it couldn't hurt) 2. Edit your xorg.conf: the keyboard section should look like this: Section InputDevice Identifier Generic Keyboard Driver kbd Option CoreKeyboard Option XkbRules xorg Option XkbModel pc105 Option XkbLayout us,il Option XKbOptionsgrp:alt_shift_toggle EndSection The two changes from what I had originally are: - under XkbLayout, I replaced us with us,il - added the line Option XKbOptionsgrp:alt_shift_toggle Next time I logged out and in again it worked well. Ori, that's really strange -- the bug you linked to was first reported in October 2005 but keyboard layout switching worked well in Dapper, Edgy, Feisty and Gutsy (or didn't it?). -- [hardy] keyboard layout switching shortcut doesn't work after reboot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196277 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 196277] Re: [hardy] keyboard layout switching shortcut doesn't work after reboot
That's strange, Pedro: I think I had the numpad bug you're talking about (it was because the status of numlock was forgotten with every boot) but since 2-3 weeks ago it works well on my computer. -- [hardy] keyboard layout switching shortcut doesn't work after reboot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196277 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 208146] [NEW] gnometris: next block preview sometimes shows the wrong block
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-games On Hardy beta, with the most recent updates. (package version: gnome-games 1:2.22.0-0ubuntu1) I never noticed this problem on Gutsy (or any earlier version of Ubuntu). Sometimes the block shown in the next block preview just doesn't show up, and a completely different one comes. [Bug 208146] Re: gnometris: next block preview sometimes shows the wrong block
I'm using the Plain theme. The background I use is not the default one, but I can't remember how I changed it, it was a long time ago :-\ I'll attach a screenshot of my settings, in case it helps. The only steps I can think of to trigger the bug are to use my settings, start a game and keep an eye on the preview. ** Attachment added: gnometris-bug.png http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12946111/gnometris-bug.png -- gnometris: next block preview sometimes shows the wrong block https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/208146 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 208146] Re: gnometris: next block preview sometimes shows the wrong block
OK, I'm not sure if this is a bug in gnometris. I tried to recreate this bug and I noticed that whenever it happens (not often, btw -- maybe in 5% of the times) it always shows that the next block is going to be the same as the current one, but then a different block comes. The I saw another problem - take a look at the screenshot, the next block preview shows two blocks overlaid one on top of the other. It could be an issue caused by the graphics card driver or something else, I guess. I have an nVidia 7300GT and I use the propriety drivers. ** Attachment added: gnometris-bug2.png http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12947170/gnometris-bug2.png -- gnometris: next block preview sometimes shows the wrong block https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/208146 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thanks Pedro. On the new user account everything works well. [Bug 196277] Re: [hardy] keyboard layout switching shortcut doesn't work after reboot
I have a very similar problem, I guess it's the same problem, but I think I better report it anyway. I upgraded from Gutsy to Hardy the day the Hardy beta was released. When I was still on Gutsy I changed the keyboard layout switching key combination to alt-shift. After upgrading to Hardy the key combination doesn't work, and when clicking the keyboard layout indicator on the panel the indication changes but the layout doesn't. I have to go to the preferences and re-assign the key combination to alt-shift, and then everything works well. -- [hardy] keyboard layout switching shortcut doesn't work after reboot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196277 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I tried it again and it works fine now, even though I'm logged in as the same user I was before. [Bug 152366] gome-sudoku indicates an error when there are notes, doesn't show an error when the notes are empty
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-sudoku I'm in the middle of a sudoku game. I wrote two numbers as notes and later decided that one of them is the correct number. I wrote it and it was painted red, as if it was an error. I couldn't find a reason why it was shown to be an error. I deleted number, deleted the notes and re- entered the number, and then it was painted black. Maybe it would be possible to try this bug on other systems -- the game number is 5, the square where it happened is the bottom right, I had 1 and 4 as notes and then I entered 4 as the correct number. ** Affects: gnome-sudoku (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gome-sudoku indicates an error when there are notes, doesn't show an error when the notes are empty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/152366 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 134672] installing Firefox plugins from add/remove applications doesn't work
Public bug reported: I'm using Gutsy and I updated my system about 30 minutes ago. I read on the Tribe 5 release notes about the option to install Firefox plugins from the add/remove application. I tried to install the Launchpad integration plugin when Firefox was running, expecting to be asked to restart it, but I just got a message saying the plugin was installed. I checked on Firefox but didn't see this plugin on the Addons list. I restarted Firefox and it still wasn't there. I closed Firefox and removed the plugin from Add/remove applications, re-installed it, but it's still not there. I checked if the Add/remove app works at all by installing Dia, which worked perfectly. Then I checked if the plugin was installed by mistake on Gran Paradiso, but it's not there either. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- installing Firefox plugins from add/remove applications doesn't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134672 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 126814] Re: gedit doesn't always start with my custom color theme
I'm using Gutsy. I update my system every day and a day or two ago I noticed that there's a change in functionality of the color themes in gedit -- themes have names now and you can select different themes (existing ones). The problem is that they don't seem to do anything... And I couldn't find how to create a new theme. When I get home I'll try it again with a new user, but I guess you can say that the bug I reported doesn't exist anymore, after this change in functionality. Let's see if the themes work better under a different user. -- gedit doesn't always start with my custom color theme https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/126814 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 126814] gedit doesn't always start with my custom color theme
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit I changed the default color theme of gedit to a different one. After I closed gedit and opened it again, it was opened with the default color theme. I tried it a few more times and in all but one case it opened with the default color theme. Going to edit--preferences--Font colors shows that the Use default theme colors is unchecked.
