[Bug 452915] Re: When most is used to read man pages, and when searching for a term, you have to press 'n' twice

2019-12-28 Thread Oskar Wallgren
The fix would be in the latest release, most 5.1.0 .
http://www.jedsoft.org/most/download.html

It doesn't seem to be in Debian yet and I see no mention on the debian
page for most that the package is old. You may have to bump Debian about
this.

[Bug 1785768] Re: [bionic] net-installer dhcp client fails with DHCPDECLINE

2019-03-25 Thread Oskar Liljeblad
This happens to me too - most of the time but not always. I can't
identify why dhclient does DHCPDECLINE, the F4 log during installation
doesn't have the reason. It is worth noting that my isc-dhcp-server log
has warnings like these:

dhcpd[26608]: reuse_lease: lease age N (secs) under 25% threshold, reply
with unaltered, existing lease for X.Y.Z.W

[Bug 1531864] Re: HTTP/2 disabled in Apache httpd

2017-11-03 Thread Oskar M
Come on guys we need http2 soon or everyone will start dropping apache
and use Ngix instead. Http2 is like the greatest thing that has happened
in web for performance in the latest 10 years..

https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/mod_http2.html does **not** say
"experimental" any more so please look into if it could be used.

Starting to become hard to explain to clients why we don't have http2...

[Bug 1356300] Re: Glitchy sound instead of instruments (after some time)

2017-07-07 Thread Oskar Wallgren
Yes. We've managed to catch some of the issues but it's still an issue
and this should stay open after lmms-1.2.0 is released. We've switched
over to SDL as default backend and it's behaving better on this issue.
With SDL I only see this when I intentionally press the system with
maximum strain on CPU/RAM.

This doesn't sound like an LMMS issue but perhaps a hardware error. A
key that gets stuck?

This is a known issue and should have been fixed in the next stable release:
https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/pull/2489

For LMMS specific issues the recommended place to go is the LMMS forum:

[Bug 1530365] Re: Audacity plays too fast and crashes

2016-12-10 Thread Oskar Wallgren
I added upstream bug and edited the bug title to reflect that it isn't
related to that specific microphone but a bug in Audacity (or
PortAudio...).

>From the release notes here:
http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Release_Notes_2.1.2
#Miscellaneous_platform-specific_issues

>A playback or recording freeze, recording dropouts or fast playback may
occur when using PulseAudio. Freezes may be caused by repeatedly
starting and stopping playback or recording in quick succession (or by
holding down the Play or Record button). Workarounds: Try launching
Audacity from the terminal with the pulse latency set to 30 ms in an
environment variable:

env PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 audacity
If you get underruns noted in the terminal, try a higher number in the
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC command. If the problem is unchanged, try a lower number.
Alternatively, bypass pulseaudio by setting the playback and recording device
to an ALSA (hw) choice in Device Toolbar

I don't see the core dump either but the file doesn't open correctly.

>>$ file initgroups.patch2
>>initgroups.patch2: RCS/CVS diff output, ASCII text, with CR line terminators

Your file has a 0Dh line terminator and is probably made on a Apple
Macintosh OS 9 or earlier.

The quick fix for anyone who runs into a problem like this is to open
the file in a text editor that reads it (gedit/pluma) and save as and
there will be an option to choose line ending for Linux/Unix. I'll probe
into this and see if there are other bug reports out there.

[Bug 23684] Re: xscreensaver should show when capslock is on

2016-12-03 Thread Oskar Wallgren
As of release 5.05, this has been fixed.
https://www.jwz.org/xscreensaver/changelog.html

The Debian bug linked above isn't about this specific bug but that
the message isn't obvious enough.
It isn't displayed with big flashing red letters but it's there.

This text appears in the message box if you fail to enter correct
password with Caps Lock on:
"Authentication failed (Caps Lock?)"

[Bug 1386542] Re: FLAC instruments in sample project don't play

The mentioned projects was made with samples from a library other than the
default one and this is now fixed upstream by simply removing the projects.
Fixed in upcoming LMMS-1.2.0 release.

If you need these particular samples they are here.

[Bug 1606124] [NEW] Error message when i try to edit and save a conf-files using gedit

2016-07-25 Thread Oskar
Public bug reported:

Hi!
I have tried to install and configure both netatalk and vsftpd to get it to
work with my mac. The installation process is no problem but when i try to
tweak the settings a bit using (sudo gedit /etc...) to configure the conf-files
I get an error message when I try to save the file, like this:

** (gedit:8709): WARNING **: Set document metadata failed: Setting the
attribute metadata :: gedit spell- enabled is not supported

** (gedit:8709): WARNING **: Set document metadata failed: Setting the
attribute metadata :: gedit-encoding is not supported

** (gedit:8709): WARNING **: Set document metadata failed: Setting the
attribute metadata :: gedit-position is not supported

I have tried to edit conf-files in two different programs so I realised
that it must be a bug in gedit.

** Affects: gedit (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

It seems the leaks are fixed in 3.13.0-79 as well.

By the way, I had to downgrade the kernel above to 3.13.0-65.106 on one
server because of some strange IO lockup issues. I'm afraid this won't be
of much help, but I'm writing it anyway.
It started 1 minute after boot with the new kernel:

After a couple of days of uptime with 3.13.0-59 it seems there are no leaks, at
least not like before. There are no kmalloc-512 allocations by hv_storsvc at
all. Total Slab memory is 3.63% of MemTotal, and SUnreclaim is 0.41%. (4GB

2015-09-30 Thread Oskar Liljeblad
Hi! I've installed the 3.13.0-59 kernel below on one of the (most)
troubled machines. We should be able to see results in less than a
day or so. I will get back to you!

Thanks

Oskar

[Bug 1499203] [NEW] memory leak in hv_storvsc (3.13.0-63-generic)

2015-09-24 Thread Oskar Liljeblad
Public bug reported:

Slab and SUnreclaim values in /proc/meminfo keep increasing. On one
servers it reached 85% of physical memory after 14 days - but on most
other servers it increases more slowly. I checked /proc/slabinfo and
almost all allocations were in kmalloc-512. So I enabled
"slub_debug=U,kmalloc-512" on one server, and after only 24h of uptime
11% of the memory was used by kmalloc-512 and unreclaimable. With
debugging enabled I could see the following in
/sys/kernel/slab/kmalloc-512/alloc_calls:

521294 storvsc_queuecommand+0x359/0x790 [hv_storvsc]
age=161922/955116/20882927 pid=1-41545

All other counters were below 2000. In
/sys/kernel/slab/kmalloc-512/free_calls I see the following:

516823 age=4315783846 pid=0

The hv_storvsc module is for Hyper-V. We are (unfortunately) running
Hyper-V 6.3.9600.16384 with Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 Update
rollup 3 for all the servers with this issue.

Kernels are stock linux-image-3.13.0-63-generic, 3.13.0-63.103, x86_64,
from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS . /proc/version_signature contains:

  Ubuntu 3.13.0-63.103-generic 3.13.11-ckt25

No output from lspci -vnvn. The problem described above happens on both
single and multicore virtual machines. CPU in hypervisors are E5-2630 v2
@ 2.60GHz. Let me know if you need more info or if I can do more
debugging.

Regards,

Oskar Liljeblad
