[Bug 2059847] Re: Input lag or freezes on Nvidia desktops with X11 after logging "MetaSyncRing: Sync object is not ready -- were events handled properly?"

2024-05-12 Thread P.Constantine

just published by the security team)

And that "security" release fixed what exactly?

Let's see: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/42.9-0ubuntu7.1

Ah, nothing, just a rebuild.

[Bug 1870597] Re: libinput says: scheduled expiry is in the past... your system is too slow

2021-08-12 Thread P.Constantine
Looks like the incarnation of "intel gdm" bug to me, where pressing Alt would
unfreeze everything.
But that time it's for NV and pressing Alt doesn't help at all.
The scenarios are the same though for me: any hard work done by JetBrains Idea
and it freezes for some time.

I see a lot of strange reports here.
Just FYI: DOES NOT WORK on any modern multitouch devices.
People who report it "works" are probably (most certainly actually) using it
with regular mouse or devices that represent regular mouse.
For that reason it is not "fix released", please change it back to "New"

the fact that all threads are in various wait states, which is exactly
what happens: thunderbird is just waiting for some event that never

[Bug 673497] [NEW] Thunderbird constantly polls on unix socket, slow loading of new messages

2010-11-10 Thread P.Constantine
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

When new message arrives on IMAP thunderbird pulls headers successfully and
when I click on the message in GUI it starts loading bar at the bottom and
tries to load the message body for a long time (10 minutes for example).
From strace on thunderbird process it seems like it's trying to read from fd=3
which is connected to empty socket.

Example for pid=2904

thunderbi 2904 user3u unix 0xf0677680 0t0 33622 socket

$ netstat -an | grep 33622
unix 3 [ ] STREAM CONNECTED 33622

This socket is not connected to anywhere.
Therefore Thunderbird gets EAGAIN error on read.
But it tries to read anyway
Until it gives up and downloads the message body normally.

Ok, what else can I supply to track the problem?
According to wireshark: nothing is sent to IMAP server at this time.
Thunderbird just waits for something but does not attempt to d/l the message

2010-11-01 Thread P.Constantine
What driver did you use in Ubuntu 10.04 that did color? Risk-free
testing without installation is possible with the live-cd.

Hmmm...strange, I will search the backup for the cups configuration and update.
I really do not remember what driver I used, I've set it in 2008 and never
changed it since.

[Bug 189573] Re: Evolution lost connection with Exchange backend process

2008-07-30 Thread P.Constantine
If you have this problem just kill all the evolution processes and restart
evolution.
But it's still annoying.
I suppose it's not that hard to silently restart backend from the evolution
process, need to check why it wasn't done before.

[Bug 244445] Re: mounting dvd says: block device is write protected

2008-07-26 Thread P.Constantine
Same problem here.
Although some DVD media can be mounted normally.
The only difference I can think of is the file size: media with files bigger
than 4Gb doesn't mount.
