[Bug 1724504] Re: navigation shortcuts do not work aver xorg update

2017-10-22 Thread Patrick Koppenburg
Solution is found here:

https://askubuntu.com/questions/819585/workplace-switcher-stopped-
working-in-ubuntu-16-04

Activating Desktop wall in ccsm solves the issue.

I still think that a feature ceasing to work silently is a bug.

[Bug 1724504] [NEW] navigation shortcuts do not work aver xorg update

2017-10-18 Thread Patrick Koppenburg
Public bug reported:

Since this morning keyboard shortcuts related to window navigation do
not work any longer. If I try to move a terminal window to a workspace
left short-ctrl-alt-left is ignored but shown in the terminal as "8A".
Also, moving to another workspace does not work. If I click on an icon
in the unity bar of a window that is open in the present workspace, it
goes to it. If it's in another workspace, the click is ignored. The only
thing that allows me to navigate workspaces is to use the workspace
switcher.

This morning there was a (maybe unrelated) update of xorg

Start-Date: 2017-10-18 09:08:48
Commandline: aptdaemon role='role-commit-packages' sender=':1.203'
Upgrade: xserver-common:amd64 (2:1.18.4-0ubuntu0.6, 2:1.18.4-0ubuntu0.7),
xserver-xorg-core:amd64 (2:1.18.4-0ubuntu0.6, 2:1.18.4-0ubuntu0.7),
google-chrome-stable:amd64 (61.0.3163.100-1, 62.0.3202.62-1), dkms:amd64
(2.2.0.3-2ubuntu11.3, 2.2.0.3-2ubuntu11.5)
End-Date: 2017-10-18 09:08:56

The problems started after I logged out and in after this change. I have
a dell 15 XPS

Linux arvine 4.4.0-97-generic #120-Ubuntu SMP Tue Sep 19 17:28:18 UTC
2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

What else can I do?

** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 943195] Re: xpdf.real crashed with SIGSEGV in GooHash::hash()

2012-05-27 Thread Patrick Koppenburg
Sorry for the dump question: How do I downgrade libpoppler19?
Downloading the deb file file gets me into Error: A later version is
already installed from software center or gdebi. What would be the
command line equivalent to install it?

[Bug 655001] Re: Upgrading to 10.10RC removed fglrx. After reboot X was not usable (only displaying colored dots and stripes).

2010-10-12 Thread Patrick Koppenburg
Just to say that I had the same problem (Dell XPS studio 16, ATI
Mobility RADEON). Installing fglrx cured the problem. I have no evidence
in my dpkg logs that I ever had this package installed (fglrx-modalias
was upgraded with 10.10 though).

[Bug 588940] Re: Xorg freeze drm radeon 'Faild to schedule IB'

2010-10-12 Thread Patrick Koppenburg
It didn't for me. I found the solution in bug #655001. Not sure if it's
the same problem.
