[Bug 1019628] Re: virtualbox-dkms 4.1.12-dfsg-2ubuntu0.1: virtualbox kernel module failed to build [Fehler: ungültige Präprozessordirektive #Oefine]

2013-02-21 Thread Paul Boyer
Same problem on Ubuntu fresh install on 18/02/2013 (12.04 amd64)
uname: Linux 3.5.0-24-generic #37~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Thu Feb 7 22:09:59 UTC
2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Fresh install on /dev/sda1 ext4 (formatted).
Added a few packages, including additionnal proprietary drivers (amd video),
and dkms support added.
installed virtualbox virtualbox-dkms BEFORE THE MANDATORY REBOOT after dkms
support was added by other packages (is this a clue ?)
installation crashed, could not start virtualbox.
Tried without success (after several reboots and install of other packages)
full uninstall. install.

PROBLEM SOLVED BY : full uninstall, download virtualbox 4.2.6 from
www.virtualbox.org. install. No problem.

[Bug 262533] Re: Imap message improperly separated

2009-11-09 Thread Paul Boyer
I ran into this only once in the last month.

Since my first post, I have changed a lot of things. I have a more powerful PC
(much faster disk, much faster cpu). I have upgraded to ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic),
and therefore updated about everything.
Nevertheless, I ran into this again recently.

I therefore suppose the problem is caused by a race condition somewhere,
that is much more probable on a slow machine, with a lot of emails.

[Bug 262533] Re: Imap message improperly separated

2008-12-05 Thread Paul Boyer
Thanks John for looking into this.

I don't know how to help you reproduce without disclosing too much personal
data. I include a screenshot of such scrambled messages that I moved from my
gmail imap inbox to a local folder. I tried to compact and it didn't solve the
issue. I have migrated to ubuntu 8.10 since my first post. I still have the
issue, but it seems to be less often. The behaviour very much looks like a race
condition somewhere.
Some of the operations that might be racing when the problem occurs :
* delete (mark as delete and delete on the IMAP server only when sync), the
move to local folder (which also marks as delete)
* look for new messages on multiple gmail imap accounts
* send messages via gmail imap accounts (and copy outgoing message to gmail
imap folders)
* html rendering (I find this very slow, but I don't know if it is normal)
I also have mail.server.default.mime_parts_on_demand set to false and
mail.server.server[2;3;4].offline_download set to true
I have also tried compact many time on my imap folders, which I have no idea
if it actually compacts the local copy or just messes all up. I have also made
everything available offline, which makes some huge local copies (a few Gigas).

[Bug 290222] [NEW] CELL(filename) not updated when file is saved

2008-10-28 Thread Paul Boyer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org-calc

Short :
When creating a new file from a template, then saving it, the CELL(filename)
function stills return the template file name. I need to edit the cell
containing the formula (=CELL(filename) ) to get the function to return the
new file name.

Longer:
I use a name scheme (invoice numbering date) and use CELL(filename) to
retrieve the file name and extract the invoice number and date from the file
name.
I create a new file from a template (therefore temporarily named UntitledN). I
fill some data in it and save it to its final name. My invoice number and date
are still in error because the CELL(filename) is still returning the template
file name and not the new file name.
If I print, or export to PDF, the filename is not updated. If I save many
times, the filename is not updated. If I save to a new file name, the filename
is not updated, etc.
If I close my file and re-open, the correct file name is displayed.
Alternatively, if I edit the formula where I retrieve the filename (adding a
trailing space after the closing parenthesis, erasing it, hit return) the name
is updated (and I get my correct invoice number and date).

This behaviour is unchanged since many versions of OO, and consistent on
Linux (ubuntu) and Windows (XP).

Saving the file to a new name should update CELL(filename)

[Bug 262533] Re: Imap message improperly separated

2008-08-29 Thread Paul Boyer
Some precisions :

I tried to close thunderbird and re-open, to move to an other folder and come
back, etc. No way to display the message.
If I go to the same message in an other folder (in the all message of this
gmail imap account) the message displays properly.

I have select this folder for offline use ON for this inbox folder
I have mail.server.dafault.mime_parts_on_demand set to FALSE (to cope with the
'part 1.2' attachment bug) but I had the same problem before to change this
settings, while it was set by default (TRUE).

I'm available for any more informations if needed, or some tests.
