[Bug 945972] [NEW] Lid closure not detected
Public bug reported: Since the recent fix to resolve problems with the power indicator not accurately reflecting the power status, suspend mode is no longer entered on lid closure, despite the power settings being set appropriately. Suspend/resume functions correctly when initiated via the key board and the lid closure event is correctly reported by upower. The system is an Acer Aspire One 751h with the infamous (indeed notorious!) GMA500 chipset (aka Poulsbo). I have tested this fucntionality with both the vesa driver and the new psb_gfx driver and the problem remains. I reiterate that until the recent power-indicator fixes suspend mode was being initiated on lid closure as per the power settings. Release is Ubuntu 12.04 development and the bug has persisted since the indicator fix mentioned above, and persists still in the beta 1 release. ** Affects: indicator-power (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/945972 Title: Lid closure not detected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-power/+bug/945972/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 899244] Re: GMA500 psb_gfx
Seconded - a lot of effort has been expended in getting the GMA500 to be useable within Ubuntu...for a little more Ubuntu could become the best Linux distro to support this chipset. There seem to be a lot of users out there who have laptops or notebooks that use this device and getting the last piece of the jigsaw in place would could make Ubuntu the preferred operating system for those wishing to keep these systems going for a few more years (including me!) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/899244 Title: GMA500 psb_gfx To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/899244/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
