[Bug 567353] Re: debugfs crashed with SIGFPE in ext2fs_open2()
Additional note: All steps performed from Karmic Live CD. System on HDD is Jaunty (ext3 fs). Apport suggest to upgrade some packages after first failure (libc6 and related). After sudo aptitude install list of suggested packages issue persists. This bug report comes from upgraded LiveCD. ** Visibility changed to: Public -- debugfs crashed with SIGFPE in ext2fs_open2() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/567353 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 300443] Re: hal rejects to mount ntfs-3g partition
ntfs-3g version: 1:2009.2.1-0ubuntu2 Here is my story :) I receive cannot get volume.fstype.alternative while mounting NTFS partition via Nautilus on fresh install of UNR (all updates installed). But it is installed next to original Windows installation. Partition were prepared using Partiton editor from Live CD (gparted). All resizing and new partiton preparation for UNR were done by me manually. So I think that dion99 may be right and issue is solved only partially. I've attached lshal output. Please let me know if I can give you any additional info that may help solving my case. ** Attachment added: lshal.txt http://launchpadlibrarian.net/31279856/lshal.txt -- hal rejects to mount ntfs-3g partition https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/300443 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 105927] Re: X is strange when shifting from X to console and back.
I seem that the problem is still in Gusty. Not only my PC has such problem with X server. When I switch to console and tries to go back to X display just simply pulsate with kind of grey color (brightining and darkening). Restarting gdm (/etc/init.d/gdm restart) or Ctrl+Alt+Backspace gives no other effect. So you may consider this bug confirmed in Gusty (at least 5 workstion with Intel Corporation 82Q963/Q965 has identical problem with display). If you want more info just comment this issue. [Bug 105927] Re: X is strange when shifting from X to console and back.
Just want to confirm that there are problems with 'intel' as a driver in Gutsy. I've changed xorg.conf manually (and also with dpkg-reconfiugre xserver-xorg) and screen gets abnormal refresh rates set by driver (completely ignoring those set in xorg.conf). To compare my situation with manual settings with fresh installation I've started Kubuntu 7.10 Desktop CD (live) and... there was an 'intel' driver in xorg.conf but resolution of screen got stuck an 640x480. Changing screen resolution gives no effect at all (just an message Do you want to keep this resolution shows on the screen but completely nothing else happens). May this can be caused by monitor? But I don't think so... Please give me any clue what should I check to get this problem solved. -- X is strange when shifting from X to console and back. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/105927 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 105927] Re: X is strange when shifting from X to console and back.
Well, I'm not so sure about that but if you have moved this to xserver- xorg-video-intel there should be intel module in kernel but lsmod gives only i915 and AFAIR this is in xserver-xorg-video-i810 (?). This is probably do to entry in xorg.conf in Driver section i810, but this is done automagicly by Ubuntu installer. In fact some time ago I've tried to switch to intel driver but this rendered Xserver unusable. Maybe something have changed. As so as I find some time I'll try it once more. Please just confirm that this really should be inter not i810. -- X is strange when shifting from X to console and back. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/105927 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 70654] Include new release 0.9.18/Instalation with non-enabled IrDA chip
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: irda-utils Many of new Laptops may have an Fast InfraRed port which is not initialized by BIOS. This could be solved by smcinit (included in new release). This task should be easy (hint: http://packages.debian.org/unstable/utils/irda-utils) Please consider detecting such hardware in installer (eg. HP nx8220 PG802EA) and try to enable IrDA with FIR driver. PS. [Bug 28443] Re: no sound Intel HDA (ICH6) and ALC260 (or ALC880) mixer; no errors
Hi, I just want to confirm that this bug still exists, but I have a few words: My hardware is HP dc7600 USD with Intel HDA (ALC260). With Breezy I've got sound on headphones (front) and only there. When I've ran Dapper Beta2 Live CD (booted from CD) I've had sound everywhere (everything seems to be fine). When I upgrade installed version of Breezy (final) - Dapper (final) sound gone away totally (sound card is detected, mixers shows volume controls etc. - but no sound at all). So there is a way to enable it and it should be fixed. PS. I've also tried to recompile alsa-{driver|lib|util} to 1.0.11. I doesn't help. -- no sound Intel HDA (ICH6) and ALC260 (or ALC880) mixer; no errors https://launchpad.net/bugs/28443 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 49121] Re: NIC names - confusion
Well, In fact I have had one totally unknown entry in /etc/iftab with line: eth0 mac {here totally random MAC} and where it came from I don't know. What have helped me was removing/commenting this entry. After this simple step everything goes smoothly (at least with NICs, I have another problem with no sound which have been working on Dapper Beta 1 but not with Final - but it's a different story). [cite]In Ubuntu the /etc/iftab file is generated by the installer and used by udev[/cite] I guess it's better to put those two lines with eth0, eth1 in /etc/iftab for future upgrades. Thanks for explanations. -- NIC names - confusion https://launchpad.net/bugs/49121 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
