[Bug 1488116] [NEW] Local session raisen insted of networked
Public bug reported: Dear Ubuntu developers, I am preparing local host and about 20 clients to use Ubuntu based "X terminals" to teach parallel programing class. I was used XDMCPfor openSUSE and Ubuntu as well with MAC OS X and Ubuntu remote X servers(X-terminals) using xdm in the past With Ubuntu 15.04 there is an issue. XDCMP request form X -terminal contacts host, but host does not connect to remote X-server and instead starts local session for host and therefore stops running unity and reach login screen with System runs in low resolution mode error message Is there any way to change such behavior using gdm , because it is only display manager I was able to use pam-ldap login with "Not Listed/Someone else" login name option with history of recently logged users I look forward hearing form you Yours faithfully Peter Fodrek ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04 Package: xorg 1:7.7+7ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.19.0-26.28-generic 3.19.8-ckt4 Uname: Linux 3.19.0-26-generic x86_64 .tmp.unity.support.test.1: ApportVersion: 2.17.2-0ubuntu1.3 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz CompositorUnredirectDriverBlacklist: '(nouveau|Intel).*Mesa 8.0' CompositorUnredirectFSW: true CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Mon Aug 24 16:02:37 2015 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: vivid DistroVariant: ubuntu ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes GraphicsCard: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [Bug 1386194] [NEW] openLDAP creates persistent connections into universisty LDAP- this is unwanted by university administrators
e default is pam_unix. # Explanation of pam_unix options: # # The "sha512" option enables salted SHA512 passwords. Without this option, # the default is Unix crypt. Prior releases used the option "md5". # # The "obscure" option replaces the old `OBSCURE_CHECKS_ENAB' option in # login.defs. # # See the pam_unix manpage for other options. # As of pam 1.0.1-6, this file is managed by pam-auth-update by default. # To take advantage of this, it is recommended that you configure any # local modules either before or after the default block, and use # pam-auth-update to manage selection of other modules. [Bug 996916] Re: postgresql packages in the removal blacklist making it hard to upgrade
Thank you information about PostgreSQL told me to uninstall all packages depending on PostgreSQL and pgsql as well. This allowed me to start install process. Is it impossible to add information to possible causes " PostgreSQL packages installation may block upgrade" Then there will be not such problems as my duplication of this bug as of bug 1310239. Another recommedation is to add button for list of installed unsupported packages or button - uninstall unsported packages (my hurt some of your programs until package reinstall) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/996916 Title: postgresql packages in the removal blacklist making it hard to upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/996916/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
