[Bug 49682] Re: Kernel can not find /dev/st0 after some time

2006-10-18 Thread Peter Hopfgartner
The original description is not accurate (any more?, can't remember).

The situation is: After mt -f /dev/st0; tar cvf /dev/st0 what_ever, i
get the problems described in the DMESG above.

After some seconds the SCSI bus messes up.
In order to eliminate hardware problems I've tried to start with Olive, an Live
CD based on OpenBSD 3.8. Tar-ing / (root node) to the tape works without
problems.

[Bug 62928] Instability, rendering problems

2006-09-29 Thread Peter Hopfgartner
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-driver-nv

Notebook Dell Latitude D620 with nVidia Quadro NVS 110M. INstalls fine,
gets the right resolution, but has problems with rendering (typically
textboxes in firefox, e.g. the Google box on the upper right side).
Sometimes the whole screen is scrambled already on startup (rectabgles
with strange colors, no readable font). Might have some correlation: an
xterm works fine even if the gnome terminal is not readable. Until now,
no problem with NVIDIA's closed source driver.
