[Bug 1932328] Re: Thunderbird under Wayland does not correctly close (or manage) windows
I'm seeing the same thing after the recent update to Thunderbird 78.11. Ubuntu 21.04 on Wayland. x11 is ok. In my case it appears to be related to the Reminder dialogue opening. Some more details: Start Thunderbird and make sure the Reminder dialogue does not open (eg by snoozing any reminders in a previous session). Open a few emails in new windows - everything works as normal. Now set a calendar entry for a few minutes and wait for the reminder dialogue to pop up. Icon on dock shows indicator showing two open window Open an email in a new window Icon on dock shows indicator showing three open windows Close email Icon on dock still shows indicator showing three open windows Icon on dock is now unresponsive to left click. Right-click shows the menu listing all the windows you have opened, but is unresponsive and stays on the screen. It goes if you press "Super" twice. Then switch to Thunderbird using Alt-tab Repeat until more than 4 windows have been opened - icon show the maximum 4 indicators. Close Thunderbird using Quit from the menu (ps shows no running Thunderbird processes) Dock still shows icon with 4 indicators Left or right click no longer does anything. A middle-click starts a new instance of Thunderbird. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1932328 Title: Thunderbird under Wayland does not correctly close (or manage) windows To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/+bug/1932328/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1381483] [NEW] Desktop sharing display frozen
Public bug reported: I can connect to a 14.10 desktop, but the update of the display is frozen in the VNC client. I see the desktop, with launcher and panel, but the time is stuck. Clicking on an app in the launcher does start the app, but the app does not appear on the VNC client screen. This happens when logging in using either Remmina on Ubuntu 14.04 on UltraVNC from a Windows 8.1 PC. Someone reported in the forums that this also happens when using x11vnc. [Bug 1059726] Re: Mounting drives that have '\040' in the name in fstab throws up an error during boot.
I also see this on a system upgraded to 12.10 from 12.04. I have an ssd (system/home) and two internal hard drives, one for data and one for storing backups. There are two entries in fstab as follows: UUID=2cb4aef5-637c-44fa-b7a2-d4ba52f98545 /media/data ext4 defaults 0 2 UUID=de6514b0-b7a9-49ca-a7ab-c19be1431636 /media/Backup\040Drive ext4 defaults 0 2 When I boot up, I just get a black screen. Pressing Ctrl-Alt-F1 then Ctrl-Alt-F7 gets me the X console (going straight to F7 doesn't work) which shows: An error occured while mounting /media/Backup Drive. Press S to skip mounting or M for manual recovery. If I press S, booting continues ok. data is mounted as expected with owner root, Backup Drive is mounted with owner phil. (Unmounted, both /media/data and /media/Backup Drive have owner root and permissions 755). The following is shown in /var/log/boot.log (file attached): mountall: Event failed mount: /dev/sdc1 already mounted or /media/Backup Drive busy mount: according to mtab, /dev/sdc1 is already mounted on /media/Backup Drive mountall: mount /media/Backup Drive [824] terminated with status 32 mountall: Filesystem could not be mounted: /media/Backup Drive (If I comment out the line for Backup Drive, boot proceeds ok, it doesn't get mounted and there are no entries in boot.log). This all worked fine in 12.04. Re: [Bug 763574] Re: Natty in loop starting X/KDE
Exactly the same thing happens. Note that after the boot (on both USB and CD) the world (3rd) icon is starting to display when the display goes black. Subsequently, this happens on the disk (1st) icon. Not a lot of help but I am guessing that some other process that is starting is the problem which is slowed up at first when everything else is starting up. Wish I could be more helpful but I see no way to get in and see what is going on. [Bug 313027] Re: MASTER: fglrx does not support xserver 1.6
Is it a good idea to file a bug for the below seperately? I knew that my card was no longer supported by fglrx in 9.04. However, I went ahead and tried to upgrade from 8.10 to 9.04a6 anyway to see what would happen (it was not on my main computer). The installer correctly identified that my card was not supported by the new fglrx driver. I assumed (incorrectly!) that it would therefore disable the fglrx driver whilst doing the upgrade and went ahead. This left me with an unbootable computer (in graphics mode) until I ran some command line voodoo. Can I suggest that as a minimum that if the installer detects an unsupported card and fglrx is being used, it refuses to go ahead with the upgrade until the user has switched back to the ati driver. Preferably the installer would do this. Not being a dev, I don't how easy or possible this is, but is would save a lot of broken upgrades. I did wonder about this, but on the beta page it says: Upgrading a desktop system using an ATI video chipset with the fglrx binary-only driver may result in a warning that the driver needs to be replaced. There is a bug in the driver replacement logic, so if you see this prompt, please cancel the upgrade until this is fixed, which will happen immediately after the beta release. so I wondered if this was what it was referring to and they had it covered? -- MASTER: fglrx does not support xserver 1.6 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/313027 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The CD passes validity test and has been successfully installed on an ASUS laptop. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Jaunty a5 won't start X on ThinkPad T20, T23 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/336058 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Brought up Kubuntu Feisty on a T23 thinkpad (standard test machine for me). Clicked install and after Step 4, the screen ended up grabled. [Bug 52386] Default version doesn't print correctly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kbarcode Dapper Drake installs Kbarcode 1.8.0. I made a label and tried to print it. It prints wrong no matter what font is selected. The bug is also described at http://www.kbarcode.net/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=f43b3e707b674ba33c66ebf834ee3025topic=185.msg1006#msg1006 and his solution was to install Kbarcode 2.0.3 and it worked fine. Sounds like a package upgrade is the answer. ** Affects: kbarcode (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Default version doesn't print correctly https://launchpad.net/bugs/52386 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
