[Bug 681042] [NEW] xorg should always probe modes on an output that has been enabled in xorg.conf

2010-11-24 Thread Philipp Hack
Public bug reported:

When xorg detects an output as 'disconnected' it will not try to probe
for display modes, even if they are explicitly enabled in xorg.conf.
This will cause xorg startup to fail in cases where the display device
cannot properly be detected on startup or where the user wants to force
a display mode on a headless configuration.

** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 124775] Re: No kernel modules for the 2.6.22 kernel

2007-08-27 Thread Philipp Hack
robbert, thanks for the workaround. No problem building and installing
the module package. However, the resulting module seems to be
incompatible with the vmware-player package. On startup I get the
following error:

Version mismatch with vmmon module: expecting 138.0, got 161.0.
You have an incorrect version of the `vmmon' kernel module.
Try reinstalling VMware Player.

[Bug 110636] Re: hdparm - cannot set dma on IDE hard drive that works via pata

2007-07-12 Thread Philipp Hack
Ivan

If you are experiencing the same problems in gutsy, why don't you go ahead and
file a new report against gutsy's kernel package?
There's a chance that it might get fixed before release.
