I don't suppose there's any way to change the package for pointing
Shutter to use libgoocanvas2-perl instead?

[Bug 1792035] [NEW] Custom Filters break when adding or removing Custom Filters

2018-09-11 Thread Phillip Pether
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1790099 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1790099

Public bug reported:

A particular unknown bug with Synaptic Package Manager with adding or
removing Custom Filters that ends up breaking the other default filters
whenever you make changes for what specific packages you want to be
filtered and shown. Changing 1 of the newly added filters breaks the
other available Custom Filters.

For example, I add a new custom filter and name it Held Packages,
because I want to create a filter for packages that are held, pinned, or
version locked. Add or remove any of the other checkboxes on the first
tab for that new custom filter and hit OK, then re-open it and it ends
up changing the other filters to the one you just made for the mew
filter you created, changes are persistent even if you close and re-open
Synaptic package manager.

[ Steps to reproduce: ]

1 :: Open Synaptic package manager, and click Settings > Filters
2 :: Add or modify an existing Custom Filter and hit OK.
3 :: Open Filters again and look at what it changed to the other existing
Custom Filters
4 :: Close filters and scroll through each Custom Filters to notice it changes
all of the others, and doesn't filter what it should.

Synaptic version 0.83

issue is very consistent, and messes up the filters for individual
packages, no matter what filter you pick after adding or changing an
already existing filter.

[Bug 1061001] Re: Shutter only shows Wallpaper / black screen in Ubuntu 12.10 (with fglrx)

2013-11-30 Thread Phillip Pether
EDIT UPDATE ***

Shutter seems to work like normal after killing it from Terminal;

$ killall shutter -9

and even tested by calling Shutter from the CLI and successfully takes a
screenshot without turning screen black with just mouse cursor. This is
only a temporary fix measure when it plays up. I've added screenshot
here with a bunch of errors it throws out from starting by command line

2013-11-29 Thread Phillip Pether
Tried taking screenshot with Shutter and it blacks the entire screen,
does this for every other screenshot options; Full Screen, Selection,
Window, etc...

I did try cleaning up the image data files stored by Shutter in the home
directory ~/.shutter I think must of been because of that, but I had
deleted them through the shutter application.

[Bug 124440] Re: [enhancement] Ubuntu needs a way to set mouse scrolling speed

2013-11-25 Thread Phillip Pether
I would really love it to be able to have mouse config adjustment
options for the mouse scroll by pixel instead of it jumping per line.
It's bit annoying with it jumping 3-4 lines at a time or even half a
page. most users, especially if they've come from another OS such as
Windows or Mac OSX would hate not being able to adjust the scroll by
pixel.

Mouse Scroll per Pixel [ 2 ]

or to any other user defined number of pixels they wish to set their
scrolling rate to. I find it rather disappointing that Ubuntu lacks this
option to customize your own mouse to how you want it.

Can't open some other PNG files too, it's not just from opening Default
Ubuntu Wallpaper from /usr/share/backgrounds/warty-final-ubuntu.png

Some PNG files open, some others don't, I don't know if it's something
to do with the way PNG images get saved that Ubuntu can't read them. I
think this should be classed as Medium Priority, I do graphic work on
Ubuntu and it's annoying I can't open PNG files because of this bug.

[Bug 1047688] Re: Boot fails on udev if USB devices are present

2013-05-27 Thread Phillip Pether
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 978891 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/978891

I've been having a similar problem, this happens when during a reboot,
but if I start from cold boot it's fine. I have a Sony VAIO VCPEH
2H1E/w, and I have a Hitachi 2TB External HDD plugged in, whenever on a
reboot and it's plugged in, the drive would begin to load up like if it
was about to boot into something else on the drive, which I don't,
except for maybe a few iso files which aren't setup to run in any way.

When I come to a reboot I get past the BIOS start-up spashscreen then it
jumps strait to a blank screen with a blinking underline on the screen.
Unplugging the external Hard Drive and rebooting seems to fix it
temporarily, I even made a check into the BIOS Settings to make sure the
main hard drive installed is booting first before everything else which
it is.

[Bug 987986] Re: Cannot browse files via bluetooth on Android device

2013-04-26 Thread Phillip Pether
I have the same kind of similar problem, except I'm able to send stuff
from the computer to my android device, but not browse or send anything
back.

If I attempt to send anything over to Ubuntu from my android device,
Ubuntu starts freezing up for a minute or two, becoming unresponsive to
any keyboard commands to quit.

[Bug 1081411] [NEW] Expo Plugin displays Black Screen

2012-11-20 Thread Phillip Pether
Public bug reported:

On CompizConfig for the Expo Plugin, when I try to use different Expo
Animation under Behaviour tab other than Zoom animation I get a black
screened Exposé view. I still see the Animation take place before the
Exposé view turns black, and I'm still able to switch work spaces
without being able to see what's on them until I switch to it. However
when it's on Zoom animation, it functions normally and I can see all the
Workspaces Exposé displays.

Exposé Views tested:
Zoom = Normal
Fade + Zoom = Black Screen
Vortex = Black Screen
