[Bug 348204] Re: [Jaunty] Intel wireless 3945ABG is unstable and disconnects frequently
Sorry for my absence here. I can confirm that using a 2.6.30 kernel from Karmic release I don't have this problem any more. I used this kernel: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux/linux- image-2.6.30-10-generic_2.6.30-10.12_i386.deb browse http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux/ for other kernel packages. Wait: I have a similar problem here. I have two laptop, an Apple MacBook (using Leopard) and my ibm using Jaunty. When I turn on the macbook, my laptop get disconnected from my wireless network. This problem doesn't happen during week ends (don't laugh): I think this is because the are few wireless network turned on around me. [Bug 108527] Re: X freezes when compiz is enabled on ATI cards
@hronir Maybe because beryl was not using some OpenGL feature that now makes the driver freeze the machine. @Arngren and Daves Guys, what damn are you saying? Textureglitch is right...disable compiz, or, if don't want to disable it, try using closed driver. I'm using it right now (because of this bug), and they are working good. It seems a Superkaramba related problem. Try disabling it. Regards, Pierpaolo On 10/26/07, PeterK [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I was searching the web to get an clue what was happening and I found this website. I have exactly the same problem, Xorg takes 100% CPU time, and system is not responding to keyboard or mouse (mouse is however visible). With ssh I can login into the system and kill Xorg, after this I get a login screen, and all is normal again. The fun part is that I don't have Ubuntu, but I am using Fedora 7. Therefore it is not distro related. I have Fedora 7 with Nvidia drivers, Superkaramba, and Kpowersave. -- Xorg process freezes, uses 100% of CPU. [Bug 35501] Re: screensaver make crash GDM
1) No, I'm using the fglrx driver from the feisty-security official repo 2) I think this means (correct me if I'm wrong), in few words, upgrading half of my system to gutsy, since that package depends on libc6 3) I'm not not using Beryl, since beryl doesn't exists anymore. I'm using Compiz 0.5.2, compiled from source. Note: if with 'Is anyone here *not* using Beryl?' you mean 'Is there anyone not using a composite environment?', then of course not: why should I use Xgl and not using a composite env? -- screensaver make crash GDM https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/35501 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 35501] Re: screensaver make crash GDM
Sorry for the third message in about 5 minutes. I was right, the new Xgl package cannot be installed due to its dependecies. [Bug 35501] Re: screensaver make crash GDM
I don't think this workaround solves the problem. I don't have gutsy, I'm using feisty with Xgl and the latest fglrx driver. The gnome-screensaver-preferences is working fine for me, without modifications to the launcher. The creash happens only when the screen saver is activated. Sometimes I have no crash at all, but more often, as soon as the screen saver starts, GDM crashes. Launching gnome-screensaver on dysplay 0 doesn't change anything for me, it crashes as always. -- screensaver make crash GDM https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/35501 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
