[Bug 558392] Re: STOP UNIT: FAILED when safely removing a photo camera

2010-04-24 Thread Poulpy
same problem here, this time with a USB drive. Trying to safely remove
the drive, I receive an error message saying precisely :

Error detaching: helper exited with exit code 1: Detaching device /dev/sdb
USB device: /sys/devices/pci:00/:00:1d.7/usb2/2-2)
SYNCHRONIZE CACHE: OK

[Bug 162352] Re: Open in terminal should have a keyboard shortcut

2010-04-24 Thread Poulpy
I tried again and it works with the standard menus, but not with the contextual
menu.
Fair enough.

[Bug 340418] Re: iwl3945 slow down after some time to 100kbps, unload/load module return speed to 1.5mbps

2010-04-23 Thread Poulpy
I have the same problem using an apple airport express as AP. In my case the
problem is clearly related
to distance to the AP and signal strength. If I am close to the AP (say 5 m),
there is never any problem.
At 15 m, download rate suddenly drops to 100 kB / s. In that case, iwconfig
reports Link Quality=40/70 Signal level=-70 dBm.
If the module is reloaded, transfer rate is good again, but only for some
minutes.

This bug exists since the birth of iwl3945... I have had it since 8.04 ! Any
chance to see it fixed one day ?
What can we do to help ?

[Bug 162352] Re: Open in terminal should have a keyboard shortcut

2010-04-15 Thread Poulpy
Sorry to come back on this, but I am using Lucid and I can not assign the
shortcut to open terminal in nautilus.
First problem, there is no interface tab in system-preferences-appearance.
Second problem, setting desktop-gnome-interface-can_change_accels to true in
gconf-editor has no
effect either.

For the moment I am simply unable to assign this shortcut. This seems to be
true for any shortcut btw...
Did I miss something, or is it a bug ?

[Bug 47825] Re: Many instances of nm-applet loaded in Xfce panel

I have exactly the same problem with Gutsy. And no session directory in
.gnome2 ...

[Bug 47825] Re: Many instances of nm-applet loaded in Xfce panel

2007-10-21 Thread Poulpy
Ok I could fix that by :
0. menu-autostarted applications, uncheck network manager, close
1. killall nm-applet
2. rm -rf ~/.cache/sessions
3. log out (don't save session)
4. log in
5. now I don't have any nm-applet. Go to autostarted apps, add network manager
6. logout, save session
7. login - I have one instance of nm-applet running fine.

[Bug 76932] Re: gksudo should use AIGLX to produce perfect fade effects

2007-10-21 Thread Poulpy
Hi, I have exactly the same problem and no idea why this suddenly appears : was
fine (crappy but working) in dapper / edgy / feisty, and produces same as
Harold (see previous post) with Gutsy.
One easy workaround is to launch gksu-properties and disable the grab of other
windows. However I would call that a bug, given that this application is not
properly working in grab mode.

[Bug 125075] Re: nm-applet: requests keyring password, doesn't use it

2007-10-21 Thread Poulpy
Same problem here. I login, then nm-applet asks pwd for keyring... problem
discussed in many places, several workaround proposed. This includes :
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=187874
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=2776815#post2776815

I'll try the second one. I am not convinced that it is secured. Any hint ?
What is the progress ?

[Bug 125075] Re: nm-applet: requests keyring password, doesn't use it

2007-10-21 Thread Poulpy
The workaround of the second link did not work in my Gutsy. At login
screen I had a popup saying auth failed, this pop would keep opening all
the time on the top of the login, preventing me to actually enter the
password and login. Had to use a recovery boot and remove mods.
