Public bug reported:

i have debian lenny and ubuntu 9.10 on my desktop on separate hard drives.
Every thing was fine. after a routine upgrade provided by ubuntu the grub was
updated and after that both debian and ubuntu do not hibernate when i choose
hibernate from the shut down menu. although grub appears ok and i can choose
which os to boot into.
My problem is instead of hibernating and allowing me to boot into the other
system ubuntu just goes to sleep and wakes up as soon as i move the mouse or
use the key board. i am forced to save all my data and close all my
applications, shut down and and then reboot into the other system. i generally
have 10 to 15 applications ruuning on my system and i am in the habit of
starting from where i left.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
