I'm using 180.44 version of nvidia driver and Jaunty with all updates and I still have this problem, using either vim or gvim. The code comment plugin does't work with Fortran 95. I've made a very ugly hack
to correct this (attached patch).
The problem is in the method get_metadata('line-comment-start') from
gtksourceview2.Language.
This method returns None when the language is Fortran 95 and I think it should
return ! (fortran line comment)

My procedures: sudo mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.orig restart X (Press Ctrl-Alt-Backspace) The X started properly and the crtl+alt+fn worked fine.
