[Bug 1917098] [NEW] Doesn't work with 3.38.3
Public bug reported: This package doesn't seems to work with GNOME Shell 3.38.3. Installing the package achieves no result and no icon in system train. The extension is not displayed in the "Extensions" software either. ** Affects: gnome-shell-extension-gamemode (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1917098 Title: Doesn't work with 3.38.3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension-gamemode/+bug/1917098/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1909073] [NEW] Introduce dependency for fonts-crosextra-carlito
Public bug reported: The plain ISO of Kubuntu 20.10 install LibreOffice without the package fonts-crosextra-carlito. This causes problems for people which use LibreOffice to open files created with Microsoft Office, due to the missing font. Microsoft Office uses the "Calibri" font, which under the vanilla installation of Kubuntu 20.10, is substituted by fontconfig with "Noto Sans", an improper substitution since "Noto Sans" is not metric- compatible with "Calibtri". Substituting it with "Carlito" is much better. "Carlito" is a drop-in replacement for "Calibri", as the package description of "Carlito" shows: "Sans-serif font metric-compatible with Calibri font". Carlito is a very small package. Its installed size is 2.836 kB. If this package is not provided, when LibreOffice opens a document created with Microsoft Office, the layout of the document is all messed up, and LibreOffice and does provide an explanation for it (LibreOffice does not issue any warning for missing fonts, it just displays the font name in italics, which is still cryptic for a new comer). If this package is provided, instead, there are no problems opening MIcrosoft Office file. I suggest making Carlito a dependency of the libreoffice package. Maybe also the other fonts-crosextra* packages. [Bug 1908477] [NEW] Provide this in Ubuntu ISO and install it by default
Public bug reported: Kubuntu 20.10 ISO does not install nor provide this package. This causes bugs when open tries to open documents written using Microsoft Words, which uses Calibri by default, using LibreOffice. By not providing this package, fontconfig substitute Calibri with "Noto Sans". This is not a proper substitution, see: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138923 Please provide this package in the ISO and possibly install it by default to avoid problems for people coming from Windows / collaborating with co-workers using Windows. Notice, although, that when you upgrade libreoffice with "sudo apt-get upgrade libreoffice", which package IS installed. It is only the plain vanilla not-upgraded Kubuntu 20.10 version that does not install this package. ** Affects: fonts-crosextra-carlito (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1908477 Title: Provide this in Ubuntu ISO and install it by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fonts-crosextra-carlito/+bug/1908477/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1907886] [NEW] avinfo is missing
Public bug reported: The "avinfo" command line tools available in bluez/tools (https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/bluetooth/bluez.git/tree/tools) is not available in the package. The package bluez-tools (https://packages.ubuntu.com/groovy/bluez-tools) seems to map another project external to bluez (https://github.com/khvzak/bluez-tools) and not the "tools" folder of bluez. "avinfo" is used for example in order to check which codecs are supported by a headphone set (see https://github.com/EHfive/pulseaudio- modules-bt/issues/31#issuecomment-462717049). Maybe have "bluez-tools" map the "tools" folder of bluez, and move the other project to another package? ** Affects: bluez (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1907886 Title: avinfo is missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/1907886/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Also happened to me. The installer crashed at startup with that message. I go into the BIOS and turned off my floppy drive. The ubuntu installer did crashed no more.
