@Sebastien: This is only partially correct - when searching for , hitting space in the search jumps to the fist occurrence of , but what if you wanted another result? So entering breaks the search. [Bug 1592177] Re: Focus drops from search input in GtkFileChooserDialog after first character, which stops searching (broken behaviour)
Hi, I would like to be able to either add this new issue here found in disco or create a new ticket for it, but I don't know what package to file against. Just like before, I opened Thunderbird to attach a file, and the file picker comes up. I type the first few characters of my search (eg. someone's firstname), and hit space to enter that person's lastname, but as soon as I hit space the search stops and jumps into the folder of the first person found. There is no way to continue searching after the space. So, does this fit here, or do I need a new ticket? If the latter, what package? Thanks. [Bug 1592177] Re: Focus drops from search input in GtkFileChooserDialog after first character, which stops searching (broken behaviour)
Seems as if this was partially fixed in disco, but when searching for a name with "firstname lastname", entering the space doesn't allow me to continue to search, but jumps into the first folder when "firstname" matches. [Bug 1803176] [NEW] Search in Nautilus does not work correctly when called from other apps
Public bug reported: When Nautilus is called from another app, e.g., Thunderbird > Attach File to email (or Gedit > Save file) the search (via the magnifying glass icon in the top right) only allows for 1 character to be entered, and then jumps to the bottom right and subsequent characters appear there. This behavior, of course, messes up the expected search results as the search is split into two fields/areas of the panel. In contrast, when opening up a Nautilus browser panel directly, any search query entered from the magnifying glass icon stays in the text entry area as expected, and the search results work well. The expectation is that when another app calls Nautilus, the search function works as if it does when working directly out of Nautilus. EDIT: Above, my first sentence should have said: "when my palm of the right hand touches the touchpad area (not the touchpad itself) while using the touchpad, the touchpad behavior seems normal" -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1630085 Title: Ubuntu 16.10 beta breaks Asus Laptop touchpad behavior To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1630085/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1630085] Re: Ubuntu 16.10 beta breaks Asus Laptop touchpad behavior
Just another observation - when my palm of the right hand touches the touchpad while using the touchpad, the touchpad behavior seems normal; also, when I place my left palm on the area to the left of the touchpad, the behavior seems also normal. However, as soon as I move my left hand away from the touchpad area, and I lift my right palm from the laptop, with only my finger(s) touching the touchpad, the behavior becomes erratic again. So in a nutshell: It works when at least one palm touches the metal of the area to the left or right of the touchpad; it does not work when only a finger (or two) touches the touchpad itself. [Bug 1632273] Re: Thunderbird crash after update
Yesterday's Ubuntu update did not fix this bug. It goes one step further, however, and I can see the add-on check being done, and the main window briefly appears, and then it crashes. However, I was able to right-click on the Thunderbird icon, select "Compose New Message", and this worked. But alas, right now Thunderbird on Ubuntu is still very much broken. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1632273 Title: Thunderbird crash after update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/+bug/1632273/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1631188] [NEW] Regression - moving file/folder icon over another folder icon no longer opens folder
Public bug reported: In Ubuntu 16.04< I was able to grab any file or folder icon, and then drag it onto another folder icon (without letting go the mouse button), and that folder would open up. I could repeat this until the desired location has opened, and then let go of the mouse button and drop the file there. Now, with 16.10 (beta), this behavior is currently not available, which is a huge inconvenience considering how awesome the default behavior in 16.04 was. Hope this will get fixed asap. :) Thanks. [Bug 1383013] Re: Diodon on 14.10 does not clear history consistently
Okay, so I logged in just now after a reboot, and the Diodon history did not initially clear. I then copied another line and that line was added, and, at the same time, the previous history that survived the reboot got deleted. Within the same session, I was able to delete all history just fine. It seems as if Diodon doesn't remove its history when the history is kept when logging out and rebooting, and is still there after a reboot. Could that be a clue? For good measure, I added the current debug log as well. ** Attachment added: diodon_debug.log https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/diodon/+bug/1383013/+attachment/4246759/+files/diodon_debug.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1383013 Title: Diodon on 14.10 does not clear history consistently To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/diodon/+bug/1383013/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1383013] Re: Diodon on 14.10 does not clear history consistently
Oliver, since I started Diodon with G_MESSAGES_DEBUG=all diodon diodon_debug.txt, I was no longer able to reproduce the bug. However, I did a restart of the system, with Diodon launching automatically at boot, and now the clipboard history can not be cleared. So, could it be that Diodon is affected by being launched on startup vs. manually launching it? And, in doing so, does it make a difference if it is launched from Unity or the command-line? I am going to stop Diodon now, and continue to work with it based on the G_MESSAGES_DEBUG=all diodon diodon_debug.txt launch approach. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1383013 Title: Diodon on 14.10 does not clear history consistently To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/diodon/+bug/1383013/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1383013] [NEW] Diodon on 14.10 does not clear history consistently
Public bug reported: This seems to be hit-and-and miss: Sometimes, when I first log in and want to clear the Diodon history, it clears the history just fine; then, while still being logged in, I want to clean the Diodon history that I have accrued during that session, and nothing happens and the history is not cleared. I cannot pinpoint as to what causes this behavior, but ultimately, Diodon does not clear out its history consistently. Current workaround: quit Diodon, and launch it again, and then clear the history. This works all the time. Note: I have Diodon added to the session applications that should automatically start when logging in. [Bug 1328561] [NEW] Unity Launcher doesn't hide after coming out of lock-screen
Public bug reported: Folks, I have set my Unity Launcher to auto hide from the System Settings Appearance Behavior tab. This works perfectly fine, until I lock the screen and come back to unlock it. After unlocking the screen, the Unity Launcher will no longer auto hide. The current workaround is to hold the Super key until the Keyboard Shortcuts helper pops up, and then let go of it. This resumes auto hide. Needless to say, locking the screen should not disable auto hide, but should return the functionality that I had before locking the screen. As a side effect of auto hide not working after unlocking the screen, maximised windows do not line up with the Unity Launcher and the window controls on the top left are partially covered. So even though auto hide doesn't work and the Launcher stays visible, the borders are not recognized the same as when auto hide would be turned off in the System Settings. [Bug 1224218] Re: [ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. G75VW] hibernate/resume failure [non-free: nvidia]
@Joseph, this is not a kernel issue, however, a plymouth vs uswsusp. This seems to be a known issue, and the question is why can't this be fixed by Canonical? Here's the note I have: Aha! I figured it out -- I'd worked around this in the previous release but forgotten about it. It's a bad interaction between uswsusp and plymouth. [Bug 1213259] Re: Regression - Several ACPI calls no longer work on ASUS G75VW
That sounds like a good idea, Christopher. Regarding Problem #1, I do remember that this was working just fine in 12.10. Once I stepped up to 13.04, this functionality was lost. But along the way I might have stepped up the BIOS version, too. I think I remember that I bought the ASUS G75VW with the 210 BIOS revision, and stepped up to 221 right away. I can't tell you whether that feature got lost due to the BIOS or due to any Ubuntu kernel.
