[Bug 1886551] [NEW] wireshark trace decryption

2020-07-06 Thread Rakesh Ginjupalli
Public bug reported:

For Bionic release, current cifs-utils package version is 6.8-1. This
version is missing below two commits

https://git.samba.org/?p=cifs-utils.git;a=commit;h=74a1ced5f706ea6a9cab885693c7755657b81a2a
https://git.samba.org/?p=cifs-utils.git;a=commit;h=6df98da5cd3fbb33f6f535c6784f037bbadadb84

[Impact]

 * Without above feature, we won’t be able to analyze most part of
network traces on a client side in case customers have problems
accessing Azure Files service from VMs running Ubuntu Bionic.

[Bug 1886548] [NEW] setcifsacl: fix adding ACE when owner sid in unexpected location

2020-07-06 Thread Rakesh Ginjupalli
Public bug reported:

For Bionic release, current cifs-utils package version is 6.8-1. This
version is missing an ACL tools fix that is needed for Azure xSMB.

Commit in question which needs to be backported:
0feb1a80f3777f4c244b46958aa9f730de9e18b6 setcifsacl: fix adding ACE when
owner sid in unexpected location

[Impact]

 * The bug shows up with mounted cifs/smb filesystem, when a user tries
to modify the DACL for the files/directories in the mount. If the
owner/group ACEs do not appear first in the DACL (happens quite easily
with Azure file shares). The setcifsacl command in cifs-utils fails in
that case:

$ setcifsacl -a ‘ACL:MYDOMAIN\domuser:DENIED/0x0/FULL’ /mnt/test/abc
main: setxattr error: Invalid argument

 * With the fix available in commit
0feb1a80f3777f4c244b46958aa9f730de9e18b6, the above error is not
returned, and the command works.

[Bug 1579549] Re: Music stops playing from main speaker when a call comes in

2016-07-30 Thread Rakesh Manandhar
CONFIRMED. It still happens in OTA 12 (i'm using nexus4)

** Description changed:

  1. Start some music playback from the music-app
- 2. It is ok with SMS notification and sound but whenever a call comes or even
missed call the music stops playing during call but after the call is
disconnected music resumes playing in low volume and i turned the volume to
full and still the sound is low and then i noticed that music stopped playing
from the phone's loud speaker instead it is playing from top talking speaker
(my nexus 4).
+ 2. It is ok with SMS notification and sound but whenever a call comes music

playing in low volume and i turned the volume to full and still the sound is
low and then i noticed that music stopped playing from the phone's loud speaker
instead it is playing from top talking speaker (my nexus 4).
  3. To resolve this issue i've to close and re open music app which is very
frustrating.

[Bug 1532607] Re: Phone not usable while a call comes in - followed by "restart"

2016-02-07 Thread Rakesh Manandhar
I'm using nexus 4. After installing OTA 9 my phone rebooted for
installation but after successful installation. It just keeps on a a
reboot loop shows ubuntu dotted booting logo then reboots again. So,
I've to use volume up + power button to turn on and from the recovery
menu i did 'wipe cache'. Only then my phone successfully booted. There
are so many nice goodies in OTA 9 but some times while using phone it
shows ubuntu booting logo out of no where. since the update it had
happened 6 times. but for me it hasn't yet happened during the call.

It’s not hard to fix, but there have been other priorities which prevented

Now RTM is locked down until it is rebased on vivid, which will happen
very soon (next OTA update), at which point you will get the fonts
installed by default. Sorry that it’s taking so long, just a tiny bit more
 patience :)

Devnagari is also the nepali script. But if it is already installed then
why wouldn't it display nepali unicode texts. fonts-lohit-deva description
does say it for devnagari which neans nepali also. But i am not sure. If
mangal is used then its 100% solved.

Rakesh, do you happen to know a font that supports nepali unicode
characters that would be suitable for installation on devices by
default? I just tested fonts-lohit-deva, and it seems to do the trick,
but as I can’t read nepali I can’t validate if what gets rendered is
 correct.

[Bug 1217889] [NEW] pwmconfig gets outdated on every reboot

2013-08-28 Thread Rakesh Iyer
Public bug reported:

ubuntu version- 13.04

fancontrol version--

 *** 1:3.3.2-2ubuntu1 0

every time i reboot the system and run
sudo fancontrol
i always get the error device configuration is outdated ,run pwmconfig again

Usually the problem is the devices listed as hwmon0/* have changed to
hwmon1/* or vice versa.

Fancontrol is not started at boot as the pwmconfig is wrong anyways, so
i have to run pwmconfig and save the changes.

Once this is done fancontrol runs fine.

[Bug 613846] [NEW] missing home directory when fsck run

2010-08-05 Thread Rakesh
Public bug reported:

I have /dev/sdb1 mounted as my home directory. After every 38 boots when
I login it feels like my home directory contents are gone. This creates
lot of confusion and panic. Actually system does fsck on /dev/sdb1 and
my real home does not get mounted when I login. I expect one
notification to wait till fsck finish instead of showing empty home
directory.
