[Bug 1892440] Re: Shell text is too small in mutter 3.36.4-0ubuntu0.20.04.2
There is an easy workaround to this, as mentioned in #17 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1892440/comments/17) Just downgrade libmutter for the time being. For anyone complaining about how long this takes to resolve: it hasn't even beem three weeks. Ubuntu is an ooen source project that you are using for free. [Bug 1600606] Re: Totem is missing the playlist. Please reintroduce it.
When you open multiple files with Totem, they are put in a queue and will play after each other. The previous and Next buttons still work, but there is no way to see the playlist or to edit it. Get rid of the playlist functionality entirely or make the playlist view / sidebar accessible via the menu or preferences. The implementation as it stands now provides is confusing and has unexpected behavior. [Bug 1589240] Re: Gnome on-screen keyboard doesn't appear when a text field is focused
I can confirm installing caribou solves the problem. It should be installed by default when installing gnome-shell, or at least when installing Ubuntu Gnome. [Bug 760645] Re: Unity: a big part of many dialogs go outside of the vertical area of the screen on displays
From a duplicate, Bug #774254 : I have worked around this by installing compizconfig-settings-manager and enabling the Window Rules plugin. You can make a rule type=Dialog for Maximize. Now all Dialog windows are opened maximized. You could also make a Size Rule to have dialoges opened at a fixed size. This workaround is far from perfect, because it also affects the file save dialog from Firefox, among others which is very ugly. But at least all buttons and filetype options are always visible. I noticed this bug is marked as medium and isn't assigned to anyone as of yet. I think the priority should be 'high', because vital functionality is hidden from the screen and the only way to make it visible is to maximize the dialog window, or move it with Alt+mouse- drag. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/760645 Title: Unity: a big part of many dialogs go outside of the vertical area of the screen on displays To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/760645/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 996259] [NEW] Show/hide Transmission using indicator applet doesn't work as expected.
Public bug reported: I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Fresh install. All updates applied. Running Unity. 1) Run Transmission (indictator applet enabled) 2) Click Show Transmission in indicator applet (checkmark disappears) 3) Click Show Transmission in indicator applet again (checkmark appears) Desired behaviour: Bring Transmission window to foreground Actual behaviour: Transmission icon in launcher triggers attention animation 4) Click Show Transmission again (checkmark disappears) Desired behaviour: Bring Transmission window to foreground Actual behaviour: Nothing happens 5) Now click the Transmission icon in the launcher Desired behaviour: Bring Transmission window to foreground Actual behaviour: Transmission icon in launcher triggers attention animation 6) Click the Transmission icon in the launcher again Desired behaviour: Bring Transmission window to foreground, and place the checkmark before the Show Transmission option in the indicator applet. Actual behaviour: Bring Transmission window to foreground, without placing the checkmark before the Show Transmission option in the indicator applet. See what happened here? Now Transmission is visible, but the checkmark in the indicator applet disappears when Transmission showing, and appears when Transmission is hidden. Suggested (functional) solutions: * indicator applet should override the window status and force window focus when Show Transmission is clicked. * indicator applet should minimize/unminimize Transmission window instead of completely hiding it. * disable the indicator applet completely (not really a solution, but still better than this odd behaviour). ** Affects: transmission (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: functional usablity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/996259 Title: Show/hide Transmission using indicator applet doesn't work as expected. [Bug 745707] Re: Launcher should never autohide when the cursor is positioned over the Launcher

[Bug 745707] Re: Launcher should never autohide when the cursor is positioned over the Launcher
After installing the proposed updates, the launcher still auto-hides when you switch programs (or start one) when there's a maximized window. However, when I point the mouse to the edge and the launcher re-appears, it doesn't immediately auto-hide anymore, until you click it again. This is much better! Thanks for that. :) But: the auto-hide delay is definitely less than 2 seconds. It's closer to 500ms. If you move the mouse within this time frame the launcher doesn't hide while hovering it. If you hold it still, it does. I still think the delay should be much higher (or at least configurable), or better even: it should only hide when not hovering it. It still happens (even while I'm aware of this) that I accidentally click something in the window below, while I intended to click an icon in the launcher. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/745707 Title: Launcher should never autohide when the cursor is positioned over the Launcher -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 745707] Re: Launcher should never autohide when the cursor is positioned over the Launcher
I have the same problem as described here, with a fresh 11.04 install, on an Asus EeePC 900, all updates applied. After switching from one (full-screen) application to another, the launcher auto-hides while hovering it. Also when you move the mouse pointer to the edge again, the launcher re-appears, but immediately auto-hides as soon as you move the mouse away from the edge. This behaviour is persistent until you hover the Ubuntu icon in the top panel.
I might add: while this behaviour is due, the expose function also won't work. When clicking on a launcher with two (or more) active windows, all windows appear instead of triggering expose. The second time, however, expose triggers as normal, the panel will stay visible (and unfolds bottom -stacked- icons) and the buggy behaviour ends. Maybe related: It seems that while switching trough windows, at random interval, the launcher immediately disappears and won't appear unless you hover the Ubuntu icon in the top panel.
[Bug 751803] Re: GNOME Terminal window initially opens at 80x23
When I pin the terminal application to the launcher, and launch it, it doesn't get an arrow indicating the application is active. When I click the launcher again, it opens a new terminal window instead of showing the current active one, or triggering expose. The only way to get back to the other terminal application is to minimize windows on top, or using Alt-Tab.
