The problem seems to be solved after I've killed upowerd process. Is it a bug on upower daemon? Briefly, what happens is: ubuntu queries the battery charge level of the mouse and it does stop pointing. After getting the battery level, the mouse pointing feature does not automatically return as it was. - I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.3 x86_64, with kernel #66~precise1-Ubuntu - (3.5.0-43-generic) + I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.3 x86_64, with kernel #66~precise1-Ubuntu (3.5.0-43-generic) + --- + ApportVersion: 2.13.1-0ubuntu1 + Architecture: amd64 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USERPID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: ubuntu 2999 F pulseaudio + CasperVersion: 1.336ubuntu1 + CurrentDesktop: Unity + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 + LiveMediaBuild: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Trusty Tahr - Alpha amd64 (20140111) + MachineType: Dell Inc. [Bug 1250241] [NEW] Bluetooth mouse constantly disconnecting
Public bug reported: Ubuntu is constantly disconnecting my bluetooth mouse. Actually, the pointing service is being interrupted due to constant queries on mouse's battery state. Every time the battery level is queried the bluetooth mouse stops moving and clicking, requering I manually open the bluetooth config panel, switch the mouse connection off, and then move and click the mouse some times until it gets connected and pointing again. [Bug 1072234] Re: 050d:0017 Bluetooth mouse randomly disconnects
I am also affected by this problem. The fact is that the power management system monitors the battery level of the bluetooth mouse, and this makes the appointment service to stop working (or not having priority). Perhaps a solution to the problem would be to disable/lock the module responsible for monitoring the battery level of the mouse. But I do not know if this is done by a power management module or by an Ubuntu bluetooth stack plugin. Could anyone answer this, please? [Bug 1066208] Re: power indicator shows a mouse battery as a laptop battery
I still have this problem. I say problem because it also affects my mouse pointing function. Every time indicator-power access my bluetooth mouse battery level it stops pointing and moving. I have to disconnect and reconnect it many times until it gets moving again. It seems the function of pointing device is overlapped by the battery level property. Anyone under the same trouble?
