[Bug 1847679] Re: Xorg crash during upgrade to 19.10

2019-11-05 Thread Raz Ziv
Helped me fix a crash during upgrade - was thrown to login screen with no users
to choose from to login. Going to terminal window (non X) I used the same
procedure to complete the upgrade which seems to have worked (although it was
much shorter than previous upgrades I remember).
Thank you so much hackel!

[Bug 1183840] [NEW] [Aspire one, Realtek ALC272X, Green Headphone Out, Left] No automute

2013-05-24 Thread Raz Ziv
Public bug reported:

The internal speakers do not automatically mute when headphone is plugged in.
Also, not all sound is played on the headphones:
1. When changing the volume through the laptop (AAO D150) keyboard, only the
internal speakers give the feedback.
2. When clicking a raio button on the apport interface, bot headphones and
internal speakers produce the feedback sound, but when changing radio buttons
with the keyboard, only the internal speakers give the feedback sound.
I've tried adding the following lines to but no option has worked:
- options snd-hda-intel model=acer
- options snd-hda-intel model=acer-aspire
- options snd-hda-intel model=acer-aspire position_fix=1
- options snd-hda-intel model=acer-aspire position_fix=2
Also, the headphones jack does not appear as an output device in sound
settings.

[Bug 438279] Re: Kpackagekit ask to report some errors

2009-10-04 Thread Raz Ziv
From my unlearned investigation this seems to be related to this change in apt
0.7.22:
...
  * apt-pkg/deb/dpkgpm.cc:
...
- send dpkg-exec message on the status fd when dpkg is run
...
I think that method /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/apt/progress/__init__.py,
line 277, in updateInterface wrongly parses this message as a regular package
installation status. The message causing this error is:
pmstatus:dpkg-exec:0:Running dpkg

This seems to be a known bug in kpackage:

As a quick workaround I would suggest installing jre separately from terminal

I would then try clicking File → Fixup in kpackage.

[Bug 293591] Re: Kalarm has no window decorations

2009-01-28 Thread Raz Ziv
This happend to me just after upgrading to Intrepid, i.e. to KDE 4. Worked ok
on KDE 3. I'm using ubuntu, not kubuntu.
Other KDE applications (checked Konsole, Konqueror, Kdevelop, Kword, Ark) are
ok. All those applications were installed prior to upgrade, and this did not
happen to them.
