[Bug 1024588] Re: Canon printer won't work with low ink warning
After I tried printing using Windows on VirtualBox the printer is working again on Linux, even without replacing the cartridge. So I'm not able to reproduce the problem any more in order to capture the logs. Not sure why, but maybe there is a flag the needs to be set on the printer after it detects a low ink cartridge? Anyway, I will keep an eye, and if it happens again I will capture the logs. [Bug 1024588] [NEW] Canon printer won't work with low ink warning
Public bug reported: I have a Canon-MP495 which was working fine, scanner and printer, via wireless. Since the low ink alarm is appearing the printer won't work any more. I can send jobs to print but the the yellow light will appear and the job will not complete with error. The status at http://localhost:631/printers/Canon-MP495 is stopped /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstocanonij failed I can still make copies using the printer manually and it works if I replace the cartridge, however the current cartridge is still usable since the printer will warn very early. Also, there is no option to disable the Low Ink Warning. I'm using the latest printer drivers 3.40-1 on Precise ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1024588 Title: Canon printer won't work with low ink warning To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1024588/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
