I have formatted and installed 11.10...this bug not affect me now... Ubuntu Hp Pavillon DV6000 with GeForce 8400M GS in 10.10 works very very very well. After DISTRO Upgrade: 1) normal boot from GRUB, I cant' shutdown, I can't switch to CTRL+ALT+F1, I can't go in standby, I can't hibernate. same problem on Hp Pavillon DV6000 with NVIDIA GeForce 8400M. If I start in normal mode I can't restart/reboot beacuse PC freeze I must press for some seconds the power button. In normal mode I can't also access to text console tih CTRL+ALT+F1, the pc freeze again. ehmsorry...I forgot to specify that if I run the recovery mode, start netroot console, start gdm, I can login in graphical environment, with unity3d, and I can shutdown correctly my pc.
