[Bug 1938013] Re: 4.15.0-151 is freezing various CPUs

2021-07-28 Thread Richard Gray
I want to add that I too began having problems on my Lenovo T480 after I
installed the 4.15.0-151 kernel. I have gone back to kernel 147 and
that solved all the problems. My problems were similar to those
reported above: the computer sometimes crashed on boot. When it did
manage to boot the mouse was often frozen and other things as well did
not function, such as volume control from the keyboard. Programs either
did not run or malfunctioned when run. When I tried to shutdown, it
would often just hang for an extended period of time and it was
necessary to use the power button.

[Bug 1026365] Re: 12.04 display unstable, not usable

2012-07-27 Thread Richard Gray
Display after full boot becomes unstable, then moving the mouse affects
display. Connected 17" E-machine LCD display and stable at this time.
Using VGA. Worked OK for several days to 24" and 27" LCD. UNKNOWN
monitor default resolution 1024 x 768 (4:3) for Samsung & Hanns.G 27".
All other options are 'default'. Richard Gray

[Bug 1026365] [NEW] 12.04 display unstable, not usable

2012-07-18 Thread Richard Gray
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 11.10 works OK. I downloaded 12.04 using the software updater.
HP Compaq with Intel Core 2 cpu, 6300@1.86 Ghz x 2
graphics card unknown - built into HP motherboard.
Ubuntu 12.04 screen was initially fine, then became unstable. Several reboots
and still unstable.
Display was not stable enough to change from 1024 x 768 (4:3) for lower
resolution.
Sceptre 24 inch LCD display using VGA port
Removed 12.04 pending bug fix

My E-machine AMD 64 also has trouble on 12.04 with display to a 17"
E-machine LCD using VGA port, dark screen during boot with "frequency
out of range" on display. It works ok on old 15" CRT display, but boot
display letters are so small that I can't read them.

** Affects: ubuntu
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
