[Bug 197957] Re: Include a libasound2-plugins-extra package for a52, jack, maemo

2008-04-07 Thread Richard Spindler
I second that request, especially because the alsa-jack plugin is pretty
much the only way to make any alsa compatible app jack aware.

And the Documentation of libasound2-plugins also refers to the
possibility to use jack, without shipping the jack plugin, which makes
the Documentation inaccurate IMHO.

[Bug 192361] [NEW] Please package cddbd

2008-02-16 Thread Richard Spindler
Public bug reported:

Hi,

The CDDB Server is available under GPL from

http://www.freedb.org/en/download__server_software.4.html

It is a normal unix server software, and serves CD Information for most
cdplayer programs. It would be very convinient to have it in the ubuntu
repositories, because if you want to set up a machine for an offline
user, it is nice to give him a copy of the current cddb, such that the
cdplayer software can find titles and names even when not connected to
the internet.

[Bug 151156] Re: Open Movie Editor uncorrectly showes UTF-8

2007-10-12 Thread Richard Spindler
Hi,

it seems as if fltk does not do utf-8. There is a patch that adds utf-8
to fltk, but it is not against the newest version:

http://www.whoow.org/people/Jean-Marc.Lienher/fltk.html

I will investigate further if there is a convinient solution.

Open Movie Editor uses FLTK für GUI, so this could be related to
libfltk. Where are the filenames displayed wrongly? Everywhere in the
GUI?

[Bug 148994] Re: Optional Codecs missing: x264, faac, faad2, lame

2007-10-04 Thread Richard Spindler
Hi,

libquicktime is modular, it would be possible to just have the
libquicktime modules for x264, faac, and faad2 in multiverse, similar
like how its done with gstreamer-[good|bad|ugly].

What do you think?

Cheers
-Richard

[Bug 148994] Optional Codecs missing: x264, faac, faad2, lame

2007-10-04 Thread Richard Spindler
Public bug reported:

Libquicktime supports a lot of different audio and video codecs, which
can be enabled optionally at compile time, depending on the
availablility of certain dependencies.

Some of those Audio/Video codecs are missing, even though they are
available in the Ubuntu Gutsy Repositories.

Those missing codecs are: x264, faac, faad2, lame

If the following packages were present during compile time libquicktime
would enable those codecs:

libx264-dev
libfaac-dev
libfaad2-dev
liblame-dev

The libquicktime DEBIAN package does not specify them, because the above
packages are not available in debian. They are available in ubuntu
though, therefore the should be added to libquicktime as build-
dependencies.
