But if i were to plugin a headset, it's working fine. A reboot sometimes fixes it. Huawei e160 modem isn't consistently detected. It's a hit and miss affair.
Sometimes requires several attempts of plugging in and out.
This modem also has a MicroSD card slot and this is probably what is causing
the issue. However, no additional drive is reported or mounted automatically.
It just takes 2-5 minutes for the modem to be detected. Following which
running it is usually hassle free.

Public bug reported: Huawei e160 modem isn't consistently detected. It's a hit and miss affair. Sometimes requires several attempts of plugging in and out. This modem also has a MicroSD card slot and this is probably what is causing the issue. However, no additional drive is reported or mounted automatically. This is by far the most annoying change in unity. I'm a casual user. I loved the workspace separation. And the fact that I could just pull up all the windows of one application together, instead of trying to remember where I left what window. With tabs in browsers, multiple instances of the browser open, over several workspaces finding my open window has become absolutely helish. There isn't even any indication of how many windows are open in total. Only shows the ones in the current workspace. If there were some people who didn't understand this workflow, it would have been MUCH nicer to have the choice of behaviour left to the user. How did the developers working on this problem assume that ONE way is much more intuitive than the other. And then change something that has been in use for over a year. I didn't see any poll or study done. If there were issues, both options should've been available. I liked unity, for several reasons, but now i'm just gravitating toward gnome 3, inspite of it's wannabe mac interface. Unity behaviour is definitely broken. 1. With multiple windows of a program open, clicking on the program icon only shows two windows in the overview mode. The icon in the launcher however DOES indicate 3 or more windows open. (3 white dots) 2. Selecting the non active window (the one which is in the background) does not bring it forth and it remains hidden under other windows. 3. [Bug 971365] [NEW] Synaptics touch pad stops working correctly after suspend/resume
Public bug reported: Whenever I resume from suspend, the mouse pointer stops responding normally: It doesn't move at all if I use a single finger to track it. If I use two fingers (which normally works for scrolling), the mouse pointer does move. Now it functions as if I'm using a single finger. Scroll, of course doesn't work then. Using the 12.04 Beta test release. This problem cropped up only after a recent update. Before this, the laptop wouldn't go to suspend on closing the lid. Now, it does suspend, but the trackpad doesn't respond on resume. [Bug 971378] [NEW] Launcher Multi window/Multiple Viewport display is too confusing
Public bug reported: I have no other way of bringing this up, that I know of. Hence I'm reporting this as a bug. Prior to some recent updates, clicking on a launcher icon, for a program with multiple windows open, would display ALL the related windows, across ALL the workspaces together, so that the user may select which window he needs to select. Now, It only shows windows open in the current workspace. And if it's not in the current workspace, it takes you to the worskpace in which the window instance was last used. This behaviour is too confusing. Even the Super+w combination only brings up windows in the current workspace. Completely ignores the key bindings in the compize plugins which relate to this function. Which is unexpected behaviour. It used to work more predictably before. If anything, I suggest you have a Super+w to show windows of current workspace, and ALT+super+w for all workspaces.
