[Bug 500367]
There is clearly some sort of issue in Thunderbird that I see in support requests all of the time, that sent messages have odd mimetypes because of presumably unexpected changes to mimeTypes.rdf. Given the questioning about the nature of this, why is this being promoted as a core feature instead of as an addon? Re Postbox: In the Thunderbird dev cycle, we will accept changes that result in failures if users run a modern Thunderbird, and then downgrade to a version of Thunderbird prior to Thunderbird 17. Postbox branched from Thunderbird prior to version 3, and it is unknown how much functionality they have backported.
