[Bug 1551385] Re: No sound on ASUS Xonar DGX Soundcard (16.04)
I just completed a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04 with a brand new Asus Xonar DGX. I can confirm the bug exists and also that the alsamixer workaround is sticky across reboots. While the current workaround is much better than nothing, I' d like a way to have sound on both speakers and headphones at once, the alsamixer solution appears to offer a one- or-the-other switch but not both. Anyone figure out a solution for this? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1551385 Title: No sound on ASUS Xonar DGX Soundcard (16.04) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/1551385/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1029285] [NEW] Disappearing options from burn menu
Public bug reported: In some situations, the burn options (use burnproof, leave session open, etc.) are inexplicably missing from the burn menu. When this happens, it cannot be fixed by restarting the application, logging out, rebooting the machine, or doing an uninstall/complete removal/reinstall of the application. One situation in which this seems to reliably occur is when using DVD+RW media. However, I've also seen it other times as well. I have 3 different machines and I've seen it on all 3 at various times. Debug output from 'brasero -g' attached as brasero-debug.txt. [Bug 302590] Re: Brasero leave disk open not available
K3b apparently closes the DVD even when start multisession was selected in the misc tab. Confirmed this by putting the DVD in a different machine and attempting to append with a different program. A little bit disappointing as multisession CD-RW worked OK (what's the difference between multisession on a DVD and a CD-RW?) [Bug 1025926] Re: k3b can't burn multisession DVD-R(and maybe others)
This bug also affects me. Updated Ubuntu 12.04. I installed cdrecord and mkisofs and multisession discs still do not work. Now the disc is appendable and I can import the first session, however it is impossible to burn a subsequent session. I've attached the debug output. For fun, I tried using Brasero (on another computer) to write a second session, and it did actually write a second session. However, Brasero has its own issues and fails to import the first session or keep the disc open. ** Attachment added: Debug output https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/k3b/+bug/1025926/+attachment/3231252/+files/k3b_failure.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1025926 Title: k3b can't burn multisession DVD-R(and maybe others) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/k3b/+bug/1025926/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Checking Allow Overburning under advanced settings appears to work as a workaround. [Bug 578167] Re: [i845g] Blank screen problem on login, logout, power savings mode, tty switch etc
I also have these symptoms on my Inspiron 1100. When comparing X logs from a successful boot and one that came up blank, I noticed the following difference: (II) intel(0): Output VGA connected --- (II) intel(0): Output VGA disconnected Note that nothing was connected to the VGA output in either case. (anybody know how to configure X so that it ignores the external monitor connector?) As an experiment, another time it came up blank I tried connecting an external monitor and the login screen appeared on the external monitor and I was able to log in! However, there were still problems such as no mouse pointer. I also discovered that it is possible to (eventually) get a virtual console on the laptop display by randomly banging on ctrl-alt-(F1-F6) until one appears. None of this has anything to do with the looping/vertical lines problem. I still observe that as reported in the bug. -- [i845g] Blank screen problem on login, logout, power savings mode, tty switch etc https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/578167 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 354732] Re: Fan control broke in 2.6.27-11
I haven't had a chance to try the ubuntu 9.04 beta cd yet, but, when I look for 2.6.27-14, I don't see it in Synaptic, and the upgrade manager says the system is up to date. Is there something special I need to do to see the later version? Re: [Bug 354732] Re: Fan control broke in 2.6.27-11
Hi! Thanks for getting back to me. Synaptic shows I had version 2.6.27-11.27, which I believe was the latest version that was advertised at the time I observed the problem last Thursday. However, the fan works correctly after suspend in 2.6.27-11.31, which is the version that I was able to upgrade to with the system updater right now. I expect it's probably a moot point, but just in case, I attached the data from the earlier version that the kernel bug webpage asked to collect. Thanks! [Bug 354732] [NEW] Fan control broke in 2.6.27-11
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.27-11-generic After resume from suspend, the fan in my laptop runs continuously at full speed regardless of CPU load. I have an HP 2230s laptop with ubuntu 8.10 installed. Fan behavior returns to normal after plugging in the AC, but that's not really a suitable workaround. I tried rebooting with the previous kernel version (2.6.27-9) and the fan worked correctly after suspend/resume, without any need to plug in the AC. So this appears to be due to a change in the most recent version. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Fan control broke in 2.6.27-11 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/354732 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 303068] Re: Static IP ethernet network setting is lost after reboot
After reboot, it seems to pop back to using Auto eth0 and the default settings (dynamic IP, automatic MTU, etc.) no matter what I've tried. I added another connection (manual eth0) and set it to connect automatically (and unchecked connect automatically in Auto eth0), yet when I rebooted the machine it still came up on Auto eth0 with the dynamic IP. I can manually reselect manual eth0 and then it's OK, but that's not really acceptable, it needs to come up right after boot without extra user interaction. Furthermore, the automatic MTU it comes up with is wrong! The value I see is 576, instead of 1500, which causes the vpnc program to fail. This happened on two completely different pieces of hardware. Completely deleting the Auto eth0 connection also did not fix the problem, it just pops pack after reboot. -- Static IP ethernet network setting is lost after reboot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/303068 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
