[Bug 247826] [NEW] 0.12.0-1 Subtitles. ocrad used instead of tesseract
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ogmrip Hi, Version 0.12.0-1~getdeb (from Ubuntu MOTO developers) - I hope it's OK to log this bug here despite the fact this version's not in the repo. I have a subtitles issue where ocrad outputs a number 5 instead of a capital letter S. I raised this with the OGMRip developers who state that tesseract is the preferred choise of the OGMRip developers. However, if I install tesseract it will not be used because the ubuntu 0.12.0-1 OGMRip specifies ocrad at build time which means that the preferred behaviour does not take place. I can see from the packaging history that this dependency was introduced at ogmrip 0.11.1-0 as a bug fix (200600) by Florent Mertens however the notes for that bug state Build with --with-ocr=ocrad : ogmrip can't choose at runtime, so we have to make a choice at build time. - Add ocrad to build-dep But, since 0.12, ogmrip detects at runtime which OCR are installed and selects either tesseract, gocr or ocrad, in that order so, according to the developers, the build should specify --with-ocr=auto or --with- ocr=tesseract instead. Thanks for all the great work. Issue still present in Hardy Heron 8.04 (with WPA) I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 1505 with a 3945ABG wireless card which regularly fails to connect to a WPA network though occasionally I note that it does connect. This issue was present under 7.10. The commonly reported message in syslog is: error getting ESSID for device eth1: Resource temporarily unavailable and when it times out the following message is written: Activation (eth1/wireless): association took too long (120s), failing activation For reference, I have another Ubuntu 7.10 Fujitsu Siemens laptop a V2040 with Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection (rev 05) also another Ubuntu 7.10 IBM laptop with an Ralink RA2500 PCMCIA card. Both of these machines connect to the network immediately and never drop the connection. The IBM is on 24x7. The relevant portion of the syslog is attached. ** Attachment added: Gutsy erro http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10762060/3945_issue.txt -- Intel pro/wireless 3945ABG WEP can't connect : its happened to me too https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139080 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 108577] Re: pulseaudio esd wrapper is not working with gnome
Issue evident in Hardy Heron 8.04 too. Hi, I have a new clean install of 8.04 i.e. I have not consciously installed pulseaudio (actually I do not even know what it is) and have not installed any other software. I get this same error written to syslog repeatedly too. To the previous respondent, I believe this answers your question regarding changes to config files - I made none and this is happening by default. I have the following sound hardware (from lspci): Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02) My syslog is attached. ** Attachment added: main.c: pa_pid_file_create() failed messages in syslog http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10769422/syslog -- pulseaudio esd wrapper is not working with gnome https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108577 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
