[Bug 2060204] Re: Resolution drop on third monitor on USB C

2024-04-12 Thread Robby ROUDON
I never tried to change its resolution (it's at the maximum by default), I just
did it with this bug happening
Now the resolution is correct again
Should I close the issue?

[Bug 2060204] Re: Resolution drop on third monitor on USB C

2024-04-11 Thread Robby ROUDON
While I was with the downgraded packages, I found a workaround and when I
upgraded again I didn't have the problem anymore; I tried to do the downgrading
upgrading twice and I am unable to reproduce the bug (which was persistent
after reboot)
I tried to delete ~/.config/monitors.xml
Is there a memory of monitors / displays?
I still can't change usb-c resolution (I don't know if it was already the case
before the upgrade)

[Bug 2060204] Re: Resolution drop on third monitor on USB C

2024-04-10 Thread Robby ROUDON
I downgraded successfully, I was able to do a weird manipulation (see below)
and when I upgraded again the changes remained and it works with the last
packages
Manipulation :
In the settings,
I increased the resolution of the monitor A which was downgraded (I could not
apply due to "hardware limitations")
I chose the second external monitor B, changed the resolutions and I was to
apply the changes
At that point I had monitor A with the highest resolution and monitor B with a
lower resolution
I changed again the resolution of monitor B (and only B) back to the highest
and applied
Both monitors were back to maximum

[Bug 2060204] Re: Resolution drop on third monitor on USB C

2024-04-09 Thread Robby ROUDON
I couldn't run this command (see attached shell output) and tried
sudo apt install libmutter-10-0=42.0-3ubuntu2 mutter-common=42.0-3ubuntu2
gir1.2-mutter-10=42.0-3ubuntu2
however I didn't pay attention when I did it, but I lost the display after
reboot and had to reinstall ubuntu-desktop
(I don't master package downgrading)
short answer I couldn't test downgrading

[Bug 2060204] [NEW] Resolution drop on third monitor on USB C

2024-04-04 Thread Robby ROUDON
Public bug reported:

I have a laptop with an integrated intel intel gpu, 2/3 days ago it was working
fine; I have 1 monitor plugged with hdmi and the other one with USB-c
Now, the one plugged with USB-C get a lower resolution 1024*768 (not
changeable) if the HDMI is plugged at the same time (it works well if I only
have the USB c plugged)
Feel free to ask if you need information

[Bug 2052971] Re: [AA license review] python-awscrt includes code with OASIS license

2024-02-28 Thread Robby Pocase
I found internal notes that said I found the offending file, but I
failed to capture it at the time. I also can't seem to find any
references to OASIS now (in any versions of our package or in the
upstream github repository). This can likely be safely ignored. Thanks
for checking!

[Bug 1327791]

2014-11-18 Thread Robby Workman
First, is nautilus/gnome/whatever the file manager/desktop
manager/desktopd of the month over there still making .desktop files
mode 0644 if they're coming from e.g. online sources? I seem to recall
that KDE was requiring this as well, but I won't swear to it.

Second, I'm inclined to go with leave things as they are wrt xfce's
setting them to 0644, in essence requiring them to be 0755 unless
they're in a predictable/correct location. In other words, let's fix
the issue raised in https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11297 (if
the user is intended to create a shortcut on the desktop, then mark it
executable when it's created).

[Bug 1296372] [NEW] network disabled 14.04 trusty

2014-03-23 Thread Robby
Public bug reported:

I first downloaded the 3/20 build, then the 3/21 build both with the
same problem I have no network connection at all. Both installs
installed completely with no errors, they even connected to the network
and downloaded the files it's programmed to download, which is why I
really can't believe the network isn't working. I do use mobile
broadband to connect, but it is connecting to the computer as regular
wifi, not mobile broadband. I tried two Samsung, and one LG phone, all
on wifi and usb connections with the same result, on an Acer Aspire
laptop.

When running iwconfig, ifconfig, and lshw -c network, they all show that
the connection is coming in to the computer, however the network
connection is disabled. Network Manager is not installed so that is no
help, I'll have to make a manual connection then updating, and adding
programs to correct the problem. Running sudo ifup wlan0 up, returns
the error Ignore unknown init wlan0=wlan0, and ignore unknown up=up.
Iwlist scan, shows scannning is not capable, wlan0 is down, apport
collect 126883 is not installed, /sbin/ifconfig -a shows all
information is correct except connection is disabled. Hwinfo is not
installed, neither is /sys/class/net.

The computer is showing an ip address of 127.0.0.1 netmask 255.0.0.0,
the phones are showing something like 10.74.26.171, 255.255.255.0,
however my 13.10 Ubuntu on same computer has an address of 192.168.43.1,
so network manager is compatible with the difference, but I don't think
that the minimal services of this install can translate them. I have
13.10 and windows 7 both on the computer in addition to the 14.04, both
other OS's, can connect both wirelessly and by usb0, so I know the
hardware itself is good, I don't know if the right drivers are there. I
think I have elimanated every possible problem except a software or
driver problem. Unfortunately I can't update the network without the
network.

I've tried connection through wpa-supplicant, with no luck. I have spent
three days trying to troubleshoot the issue with no luck. I tried using
my 13.10 to download a .deb of network manager and installing with dpkg,
however no matter what I did dpkg returned with an error of, file does
not exist.

For some reason the network is disabled on this version, at least with
mobile broadband wifi, and usb connections, there needs to be a way to
update the system so you can connect and update.

[Bug 963816] [NEW] Error in the inclusion of header files of the libnspr4-dev

2012-03-24 Thread Robby
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I'm trying to compile a project who needs the SpiderMonkey headers files.
When I needed to include the file /usr/include/js/jslock.h (from
libmozjs185-1.0-dev) I found a (probable) bug:

The lines 46-51 include some files from libnspr4-dev package:

#ifdef JS_THREADSAFE
# include pratom.h
# include prlock.h
# include prcvar.h
# include prthread.h
#endif

but that's files are not in the same folder like jslock.h. So these
lines must be like that:

#ifdef JS_THREADSAFE
# include nspr/pratom.h
# include nspr/prlock.h
# include nspr/prcvar.h
# include nspr/prthread.h
#endif

I hope this report will be usefull.

See ya!

[Bug 749169] Re: tellico version 2.2-5 failed to build on i386

2011-04-03 Thread Robby Stephenson
Newer Linux kernels removed the videodev.h header file, so Tellico won't
compile with them.

The problem has been fixed upstream. See
http://websvn.kde.org/?view=revisionrevision=1222450
http://websvn.kde.org/?view=revisionrevision=1223010

The next release of Tellico (2.3.3) will have the fix, and is expected
to be released in April 2011.

2010-05-03 Thread Robby
Hi all,

but before 5 minutes (or less) it disconnect and dmesg give me the error: No
probe response from AP 00:22:3f:55:ff:fa after 500ms, disconnecting. Now I'm
trying to connect without encryption and in the last 20 minutes everything
seems good.

My computer is a VAIO-VPCF11V5E whit Intel WiFi Link 6000 Series (rev
35) and using the iwlagn drivers.

If need more data, I'm here (if my connection don't go down...).

Thanks for all the support (not only for this bug)!!!

[Bug 573616] [NEW] Bad sound quality due to missing config files

2010-05-02 Thread Robby
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

In karmic, maybe in later releases, too, the sound quality of pulseaudio
is very bad.

After a long research I found the following page:
http://blog.netflowdevelopments.com/2009/05/07/sound-quality-with-
pulseaudio-finally-restored-no-more-slightly-grainy-music/

The files “client.conf , default.pa, and system.pa” from /etc/pulse must
be in ~/.pulse too. Then the sound is clear as before.

I hope you can fix that, because this may effect a lot of users.

Regards

[Bug 500852] [NEW] unable to compile lock-keys-applet

I downloaded lock-keys-applet_1.0-8.3.diff.gz and lock-keys-

When I build, however, I get the below.

I'm trying to rebuild it so that I can change the icons (to make them
match the netbook remix a little bit better and to make the on and
off states a little bit more different). Any hints?

[Bug 491685] [NEW] memcached doesn't correctly daemonize

2009-12-02 Thread Robby
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: memcached

Ubuntu 9.10
memcached 1.2.8-1

it appears that launching memcached through the init.d scripts will
cause it to daemonize in a way where it's still attached to the tty of
the launching terminal/process. For instance, 'ps aux' shows:

nobody 16026 0.0 0.1 55976 2364 pts/0Sl+ 00:47 0:00
/usr/bin/memcached -m 128 -p 11211 -u nobody

where if I launch the command like so:

r...@chllab-dev1:/home/rbd# su nobody --
$ /usr/bin/memcached -d -m 128 -p 11211 -u nobody

I see:

nobody4970 0.0 0.0 113816 884 ?Ssl 20:24 0:00
/usr/bin/memcached -d -m 128 -p 11211 -u nobody

Notice the command is not associated with a particular tty (good). This
problem will not affect most people, but affects me because I have an
application that will start up memcached when it starts up, and shut it
down right before it's done shutting down. When my application receives
a SIGINT, memcached gets the SIGINT as well and dies suddenly, where my
app still needs it for the shutdown routine to complete.

The fix would be to have memcached's perl wrapper pass the -d flag along
to the daemon...right now it appears that it ignores this, even if I
uncomment it in the /etc/memcached.conf file

[Bug 411504] Re: evolution crashes when trying to save an appoinmment after adding a reccurence

2009-10-07 Thread Robby Finstein
Hey all, I posted this bug. I'm not using Ubuntu at the moment (Fedora).
I got this message from (posted above) from Sebastian Bacher after I
submitted it:

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch
nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on
the crash report you wish to submit.

If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
/usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a
terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.
I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

I didn't have to time pursue this further, and now can't do it at all.
If one of you would like to provide this information, that would be
great.

[Bug 321038] Re: ISBN search returns The search returned no items

2009-01-30 Thread Robby Stephenson
0-553-56273-8 works for me with the isbndb.com data source with Tellico
1.3.4. I don't think there have been any changes in that section of the
code since 1.3.2.1, so I'm not sure why it's not working for you.

The grs-1 line is only applicable for z39.50 sources, which Library of
Congress is, though. And there seems to be a separate bug with that
search in 1.3.4.

I played around with things a bit more and figured out that in certain
cases, a collection with a small number of books would crash when exporting
to Alexandria. I just fixed that, but it'll be in a future version. For
now, you just need 100 books or more to keep it from crashing... :/

Sorry, but thanks for the bug report.

If possible, you might try upgrading. Several crashing bugs have been fixed

[Bug 298685] Re: tellico does not import data from audio-CD in CD-Drive

2008-11-17 Thread Robby Stephenson
Since the ubuntu package doesn't appear to be compiled with support for
audio-CD information, there's no way to get it to work. You'd either
have to compile it yourself, or find a different ubuntu package. Sorry.

You might want to forward your request to the ubuntu packagers. I don't

[Bug 298685] Re: tellico does not import data from audio-CD in CD-Drive

2008-11-16 Thread Robby Stephenson
The Ubuntu package must not be compiled with kdemultimedia support. To
check for sure, try running

ldd `which tellico` | grep kcddb

If Tellico was linked to the KCDDB library, you'll see some output. On my
machine, I see
libkcddb.so.1 = /opt/kde3/lib/libkcddb.so.1

As for the handbook, are you running under GNOME? I've heard of people
having issues seeing the handbook when the KDE desktop isn't running,
and I've not been able to figure it out yet.

[Bug 207986] Re: unreadable layout

2008-04-07 Thread Robby Stephenson
How did this file get generated in the first place? There are carriage-
returns in the XML serialization, Tellico preserves those and they show
up in the list view as you see it. I think the real bug may be whatever
generated the data in the first place, which data source in Tellico did
you use to create the data? I'll have to track that down and fix it.

I would expect the layout problem to be present in earlier versions,
too. Did you upgrade from an older version, or is this collection newly
created?

Thanks for your help with this.

I haven't seen that in any of my files. Is your collection file a
reasonable size for emailing it to me? You could export without the
images, to make it smaller.

[Bug 141436] Re: iptables is missing the statistic and other modules

2007-10-15 Thread Robby
It seems that statistic (e.g. --nth) has been moved into the 2.6 kernel itself
and is not a part of iptables starting with release 1.3.7. Can we get 1.3.7 at
least in gutsy?
See http://securepoint.com/lists/html/NetFilter/2007-04/msg00091.html for more
info.

[Bug 151856] sleep 1 in init.d script for restart may not be enough...

2007-10-12 Thread Robby
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: icecast2

Basically, from time to time when I execute /etc/init.d/icecast2 restart
and icecast is running the restart command will error out on the start-
stop-daemon --start command with the output that icecast2 is already
running (you need to remove the --quiet tag to see this). Extending the
sleep time to 2 seconds between the two start-stop-daemon commands seems
to fix this race condition.

** Affects: icecast2 (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 120017] Re: Can't compile Zaptel driver under feisty with a 2.6.20.16 kernel

2007-10-11 Thread Robby
Hi guys,

I also had problems compiling this module under edgy tribe 5, using the
command: module-assistant -t a-i zaptel
The error I got was /usr/src/modules/zaptel/ztd-eth.c:176: error: struct
sk_buff has no member named nh

I fixed it by applying the following patch to the ztd-eth.c code:
http://svn.digium.com/view/zaptel/branches/1.4/ztd-
eth.c?sortby=revr1=2044r2=2676pathrev=2676

So from this it looks like this package needs to be updated to at least
rev 2676 to work with the newest kernels.
