Re: [Bug 1042069] Re: Jumpy Mouse Cursor using Thinkpad X230 Touchpad

2018-03-31 Thread Robert Orzanna
Cannot test right now on Ubuntu because I'm on Fedora 27 right now but
there I didn't have to apply any tweaks. The TouchPad is just working fine.
Maybe that's due to different kernel versions?

2018-03-11 Thread Robert Orzanna
Isn't this related to Wayland security feature?

Clipboard content is forgotten if you close the app (in this case the
screenshot tool) before pasting.

[Bug 1735678] Re: Suggestion to produce a sound when increasing or lowering the volume

2017-12-19 Thread Robert Orzanna
Thanks, Kev,

Let me attempt to clear my case.

Coming from Ubuntu with Unity/GNOME, I got used to audio feedback.

The volume without headphones and headphones is not the same. Once I
plug in my headphones, I noticed that it uses a different volume setting

The other day, I was on a Hangouts call. I didn't hear the other person.
I wasn't sure if the problem was on his side or if I had broken
headphones.

Having audio feedback when changing the volume while on headphones is an
easy and simple way to confirm that your audio settings are fine and
that your headphones are working.

[Bug 1735423] Re: Terminal window name doesn't refresh after running mpsyt

2017-12-01 Thread Robert Orzanna
It actually helps to use the following command:

$ export PS1="\[$(xtitle \`pwd\`)\]$oldprompt"

This does refresh the window name after exiting mpsyt.

Source: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/243144/initial-tab-
title-and-automatic-update-of-it-in-xfce4-terminal

Can we somehow incorporate this into the upstream package?

[Bug 1735707] [NEW] Use touchpad configuration settings from Ubuntu 18.04

2017-12-01 Thread Robert Orzanna

[Bug 1733890] [NEW] Copy to clipboard not working

2017-11-22 Thread Robert Orzanna
Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:

1. Grab the whole screen with delay
2. Press copy to clipboard
3. Try pasting into any application like GIMP or Chrome (e.g. Github issue
thread) using Ctrl + v

It's not pasting any image because it doesn't seem to be in clipboard.

[Bug 1733577] [NEW] Buttons to go right, left, rotate are not well visible

2017-11-21 Thread Robert Orzanna
Public bug reported:

Please see the attached screenshot.

I tested this on 18.04.

In my opinion, the buttons to go right, left or rotate are not well
visible unless you hover over them.

Is this intentional or a bug?

I suggest to increase the contrast on non-hover so that it's more
visible what these buttons do.

[Bug 1730406] Re: icon are too small with some tray icons such as Telegram

2017-11-18 Thread Robert Orzanna
Thank you, Jean!

I guess I you're right and the fix has been committed.

But I feel it's still not proper.

Look at my attachment. I can hardly read the number (is it 12?).

Will ask upstream to take another look at it and maybe make it slightly
bigger.

What do you think?

[Bug 1732694] [NEW] Inhibit screensaver when using Google Hangouts

2017-11-16 Thread Robert Orzanna
Public bug reported:

Coming from upstream with the request for more people to test it.

https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=783737

Following are the steps followed to reproduce the issue.

1. Started a Hangouts call in a new browser tab https://hangouts.google.com
2. Didn't move the mouse.
3. Observed that chrome did not dimm out and turn off while being on the
Hangouts call.

I followed those steps and and Chrome/Chromium 62 and 64 it dims the
screen. However, upstream wasn't able to reproduce.

Can someone else help test it and see if it works or not?

Thank you!

[Bug 1722570] [NEW] Numbers of sidebar icons only show after Super + Number key had been pressed

2017-10-10 Thread Robert Orzanna
Public bug reported:

Hi all,

The discussion started here:

https://community.ubuntu.com/t/show-the-number-on-the-sidebar-icons-
when-just-holding-super-key/426/5?u=orschiro

Basically, you press Super + Number key to open a specific app from the
sidebar which position corresponds to the number you pressed.

Then you get to see this useful number on the icon.

The suggestion would be to show this number prior to opening the
application.

I tried to to describe this situation in this video:

[Bug 1708875] Re: mute microphone button not working

2017-08-17 Thread Robert Orzanna
I am pretty sure I didn't do any mistake but the key is still not
working. I will also attach an animation to show how volume mute
produces a notification, and volume down/up as well. Just the mic
doesn't trigger a notification, nor does it actually mute the mic
(checked in the sound preferences).

[Bug 1708875] Re: mute microphone button not working

2017-08-16 Thread Robert Orzanna
Still not working after those edits. Did I do something wrong?

Here is my entire file after the edits:

# /lib/udev/hwdb.d/60-keyboard.hwdb

# This file is part of systemd.
#
# This file contains 3 types of metadata to apply to keyboards and
# keyboard-like input devices:
# - Key mapping
# - Hard-coded layouts
# - Absence of modifier LEDs
#
# The matching process is the same for the different types of metadata.
#
# ### MATCHING ###
#
# The lookup keys are composed in:
# 60-evdev.rules
#
# Note: The format of the "evdev:" prefix match key is a
# contract between the rules file and the hardware data, it might
# change in later revisions to support more or better matches, it
# is not necessarily expected to be a stable ABI.
#
# Supported hardware matches are:
# - Generic input devices match:
# evdev:input:bvpe-
#This matches on the kernel modalias of the input-device, mainly:
# is the bus-id (see /usr/include/linux/input.h BUS_*), , and
#WWW are the 4-digit hex uppercase vendor, product and version ID and
#is an arbitrary length input-modalias describing the device capabilities.
#The vendor, product and version ID for a device node "eventX" is listed
#in /sys/class/input/eventX/device/id.
#
# - AT keyboard DMI data matches:
# evdev:atkbd:dmi:bvn*:bvr*:bd*:svn:pn:pvr*
# and are the firmware-provided strings
#exported by the kernel DMI modalias, see /sys/class/dmi/id/modalias
#
# - Input driver device name and DMI data match:
#  evdev:name::dmi:bvn*:bvr*:bd*:svn:pn*
# is the name device specified by the
#driver, is the firmware-provided string exported
#by the kernel DMI modalias, see /sys/class/dmi/id/modalias
#
# - Extended input driver device name, properties and DMI data match:
#  evdev:name::phys::ev::dmi:bvn*:bvr*:bd*:svn:pn*
# is the name device specified by the
#driver, is the physical-device-path, "cat
#/sys/class/input/input?/phys", is the event bitmask, "cat
#/sys/class/input/input?/capabilities/ev" and is the
#firmware-provided string exported by the kernel DMI modalias,
#see /sys/class/dmi/id/modalias

# # KEY MAPPING ##
#
# Keyboard mapping of scan codes to key codes, and
# scan codes to add to the AT keyboard's 'force-release' list.
#
# Scan codes are specified as:
# KEYBOARD_KEY_=
# The scan code should be expressed in hex lowercase. The key codes
# are retrieved and normalized from the kernel input API header.
# Keycodes are either KEY_* defines in lowercase with the key_ prefix
# optionally removed or BTN_ defines in lowercase with btn_ preserved.
#
# An '!' as the first character of the key identifier string
# will add the scan code to the AT keyboard's list of scan codes
# where the driver will synthesize a release event and not expect
# it to be generated by the hardware.
#
# To debug key presses and access scan code mapping data of
# an input device use the commonly available tool: evtest(1).

# A device with a fixed keyboard layout that must not be changed by
# the desktop environment may specify that layout as:
# XKB_FIXED_LAYOUT="us"
# XKB_FIXED_VARIANT=""
# Examples of such devices: the Yubikey or other key-code generating
# devices.
#
# To update this file, create a new file
# /etc/udev/hwdb.d/70-keyboard.hwdb
# and add your rules there. To load the new rules execute (as root):
# systemd-hwdb update
# udevadm trigger /dev/input/eventXX
# where /dev/input/eventXX is the keyboard in question. If in
# doubt, simply reload all input rules
# udevadm trigger --verbose --sysname-match="event*"
#
# If your changes are generally applicable, preferably send them as a pull
# request to
# https://github.com/systemd/systemd
# or create a bug report on https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues and
# include your new rules, a description of the device, and the output of
# udevadm info /dev/input/eventXX.
