I can confirm that after upgrading to Kernel 4.18.0-13 , and moving up to 
ubuntu 18.10 
BCM4360 802.11ac Wireless Network Adaptor (rev 03)
Still not able to view 5Ghz networks .
Wifi Radar only see's G Networks.

When I raised this back in August,  I could not resolve the performance either 
with Ubuntu drivers or Intel.  It just seemed upping the kernel from 4.6 
upwards stopped the performance. You don't have to upgrade to 16.10 to see the 
issue. 
Any way tried to upgrade 4 weeks ago incase the issue had resolved it's self 
with kernel 4.9 and nope it's still there.

Public bug reported:

Upgraded a working version of 16.04 to 16.10 Ubuntu . Intel graphics chip 
(details to arrive later ) 
 When running gfx gears fps is a healthy 48-58 fps , but when other movements 
are made on screen this drops terrible . Chrome browser is extremely slow to 
use . Firefox also slow but faster that chrome .
 Installed latest Intel drivers & Mesa drivers ( version to arrive later) from 
compiled sourced .

 This is a i7 with 16 gig of ram 128 gig ssd and 1tb home dir .

 Wobberly Windows is rough and jerky . Other symptoms are opening
terminal from unitity dock takes ages . And usining nautilus can freeze
the screen for several seconds .

 Please advis On info required to help with this .
