[Bug 1559576] Re: Ubuntu GNOME boots to black screen when using proprietary Nvidia drivers
Ps. It is working on Ubuntu 16.10, 4.8.0-39-generic, GDM3 3.20.1-1ubuntu2, nvidia-378 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1559576 Title: Ubuntu GNOME boots to black screen when using proprietary Nvidia drivers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gdm/+bug/1559576/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1559576] Re: Ubuntu GNOME boots to black screen when using proprietary Nvidia drivers
Thanks to #100 I got GDM working again. I just upgraded to nvidia-378 and re-installed xserver-xorg-legacy and finally got GDM working again. I'll keep lightdm installed just in case it all stops working again. I don't know/remember if this happend while I was fiddling around getting GDM to work. But in /etc/gdm3/custom.conf I had the following line active and it was running havok with GDM opening in different tty every boot an delaying boot time. So make sure to comment out the following line: #AutomaticLoginEnable=True -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1559576 Title: Ubuntu GNOME boots to black screen when using proprietary Nvidia drivers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gdm/+bug/1559576/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1632322] Re: Computer never gets to the GDM3 login screen when nvidia- is installed
Temporary workaround is installing lightdm to get a logon screen and switch back to gdm3 when this bug is fixed. I am also waiting on this bug to be fixed. I had this problem also a couple of years back. sudo apt install lightdm sudo dpkg-reconfigure lightdm Then choose lightdm. Now you can use a login screen, instead of using auto-logon. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1632322 Title: Computer never gets to the GDM3 login screen when nvidia- is installed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1632322/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1438510] Re: [REGRESSION] bluetooth headset no longer supports a2dp
I had the same problem and for several months I have tried all possible solutions I could find to no avail,... until today! I found the solution in post #17 in the following https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1526534#p1526534 (tnx SimFox3) What I did: # First copy the files I edited sudo cp /etc/bluetooth/audio.conf /etc/bluetooth/audio.conf_tmp sudo cp /etc/pulse/default.pa /etc/pulse/default.pa_tmp sudo cp /usr/bin/start-pulseaudio-x11 /usr/bin/start-pulseaudio-x11_tmp #Edit /etc/bluetooth/audio.conf sudo nano /etc/bluetooth/audio.conf This is in my audio.conf # Configuration file for the audio service # This section contains options which are not specific to any # particular interface [General] Enable=Gateway,Source # Switch to master role for incoming connections (defaults to true) Master=true # If we want to disable support for specific services # Defaults to supporting all implemented services #Disable=Gateway,Source,Socket Disable=Socket # SCO routing. Either PCM or HCI (in which case audio is routed to/from ALSA) # Defaults to HCI #SCORouting=HCI # Automatically connect both A2DP and HFP/HSP profiles for incoming # connections. Some headsets that support both profiles will only connect the # other one automatically so the default setting of true is usually a good # idea. AutoConnect=true # Headset interface specific options (i.e. options which affect how the audio # service interacts with remote headset devices) [Headset] # Set to true to support HFP, false means only HSP is supported # Defaults to true HFP=true # Maximum number of connected HSP/HFP devices per adapter. Defaults to 1 MaxConnected=2 # Set to true to enable use of fast connectable mode (faster page scanning) # for HFP when incoming call starts. Default settings are restored after # call is answered or rejected. Page scan interval is much shorter and page # scan type changed to interlaced. Such allows faster connection initiated # by a headset. FastConnectable=true # Just an example of potential config options for the other interfaces #[A2DP] #SBCSources=1 #MPEG12Sources=0 #Edit /etc/pulse/default.pa sudo nano /etc/pulse/default.pa comment out (with an # at the beginning of the line) the following line #load-module module-bluetooth-discover #now edit /usr/bin/start-pulseaudio-x11 sudo nano /usr/bin/start-pulseaudio-x11 and after the lines if [ x”$SESSION_MANAGER” != x ] ; then /usr/bin/pactl load-module module-x11-xsmp “display=$DISPLAY session_manager=$SESSION_MANAGER” > /dev/null fi add the following /usr/bin/pactl load-module module-bluetooth-discover #Restarted and I was finally able tot switch to A2DP Hope it works for you too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1438510 Title: [REGRESSION] bluetooth headset no longer supports a2dp To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/1438510/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1386111] Re: Keyboard shortcuts not working on Ubuntu 14.10 and 15.04
Same problem here. The short-cuts stop working after resuming from standby AND logging in to TTY2. When switching to TTY7 the short-cuts work in the login screen, but after logging in they don't work any more. When this happens, shutdown/restart/logging out takes ages as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1386111 Title: Keyboard shortcuts not working on Ubuntu 14.10 and 15.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1386111/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Also on my asus zenbook my brightness keys fn+f5 and fn+f6 are the only fn keys working. They still change the brightness bus there is no pop-up icon showing the brightness level.
