Re: [Bug 469643] Re: can't record from Mic same mic works fine on Vista computer. Also when listening to music often will get a bussing sound which can be resoved by moving the volume control a little
Well it is in fact a software problem and the Turtle beach card does work with xp. The question is someone willing to write the sound driver software for this card which is several years old? If you want it to work correctly soon you may have to change out the card until such time as compatiable sound drivers become available. On Fri, Mar 5, 2010 at 1:47 AM, Spang het...@hotmail.com wrote: I wouldn't exactly qualify this as invalid. The card in that old pc indeed is a turtle beach. But, if it functioned right under windows, it's clearly a software problem. A software problem shouldn't have a hardware solution like changing the sound card, should it? -- can't record from Mic same mic works fine on Vista computer. I did find the solution awhile back. The computer had an old Turtle Beach sound card installed that was causing the problem. Changed it out to a Sound Blaster (Fairly old, don't know the model) It has worked great from that point on. It is still unstable as hell, changing the audio volume during playback, triggers a loud static. -- can't record from Mic same mic works fine on Vista computer. [Bug 428619] Re: pulseaudio crackle/distortion with cs46xx on latest update
I also had an old Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound Card using the CS46xx Driver. Had problems with the making a loud buzzing noise anytime I used the mouse; only way to get it to stop was to move the volume setting around. Played around with sitting using the Alsa mixer for at least 2 hours only seemed to get worse. Never did get the Mic working with any programs. I had a Creative Lab sound card which I had taken from an old computer. Replace the Turtle Beach Card with the Creative Lab card. All the sound problems vanished as soon as the system finished booting including the mic stated to work. -- pulseaudio crackle/distortion with cs46xx on latest update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/428619 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
