[Bug 1322925] Re: Copy, paste stops working randomly in Ubuntu 14.04 nautilus

2014-11-11 Thread Ronald Koster
Cut|Copy + Paste stops working quite regularly in my Nautilus since
Ubuntu 14.04 and still in 14.10. The delete button also becomes
disabled. No greying out of menu itmes. The shortcuts (Ctrl + X|C|V),
delete button and menu items simple stop working.

[Bug 1197213] Re: Heads up display does not work in 13.10

2013-12-19 Thread Ronald Koster
I have the same problem. HUD totally useless now. Since HUD is a critcal part
of Unity this is really anoying. Please fix this asap!
I am using Ubuntu 13.10 64bit and Compiz rotating cube.

I have tried the Unity reset described above at Felipe, but it did not
help.

While you are at it: is it possible to enhance the launcher buttons
management? It would be great to be able to modify properties of buttons
through right clicking on them. I would like to be able to change button
properties like: icon file, full path of program launched, etc. Now I
modify those properties by editting the .desktop files in
~/.local/share/applications/. Right clicking on a button would be so
much easier!

But please fix HUD first.

[Bug 728745] Re: [nvidia, 7300, 7400] display freeze when using unity desktop

2011-05-29 Thread Ronald Koster
I think the bug is still present in latest release. For after my upgarde from
10.10 (in which Compiz worked fine) I had to major issues:
1. X did not start. It crashed and I ended up in console 1. Manually setting
the general vesa driver in /etc/Xorg worked was a temp solution. Final solution
is described at the Natty Narwwhal Release Notes (apt-get install
linux-headers-generic-pae. See bug 772226.)
2. Next Unity freezes/hangs. Classic mode with visual effect also. Classic mode
without visuals effects worked. At last!

[Bug 728745] Re: [nvidia, 7300, 7400] display freeze when using unity desktop

2011-05-29 Thread Ronald Koster
This is how I found out Classic mode without visual effects cold be an
effective workaround: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1755014

I hope the bug will be fixed soon. Else if Ubuntu 11.10 will no longer
support classic mode, I will not be able to upgrade anymore...

[Bug 508142] [NEW] Logcheck-database outdated for dnsmasq-dhcp

2010-01-15 Thread Ronald Koster
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: logcheck-database

The logcheck databse for dnsmasq contains amongst others the following rule:
^\w{3} [ :0-9]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ dnsmasq\[[[:digit:]]+\]:
(DHCPDISCOVER|DHCPOFFER|DHCPREQUEST|DHCPACK|DHCPRELEASE|DHCPINFORM|BOOTP)\([[:alnum:]]+\)
 [ :[:alnum:]._-]+$

For ubuntu 9.10 dnsmasq has been changed into dnsmasq-dhcp

hence the rule needs to be changed into
^\w{3} [ :0-9]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ dnsmasq-dhcp\[[[:digit:]]+\]:
(DHCPDISCOVER|DHCPOFFER|DHCPREQUEST|DHCPACK|DHCPRELEASE|DHCPINFORM|BOOTP)\([[:alnum:]]+\)
 [ :[:alnum:]._-]+$

[Bug 153830] Edgy 7.04 does not use all RAM: it sees only 2GB of the 4GB available

2007-10-18 Thread Ronald Koster
Public bug reported:

My computer has 4GB of RAM. When I install Edgy 7.04 32bit version all works
fine except it detects only 2GB of RAM. uname -a output:
Linux mycomputername 2.6.20-16-generic #2 SMP Wed May 23 01:46:23 UTC 2007 i686
GNU/Linux

When testing RAM directly from the Ubuntu install CD it does detect all
4GB without errors.

System info:
Motherboard: Asus P5B-E Plus
CPU: Intel Core2Duo E6600 2.4GHz S775 BOX

Obviously I want it to use all 4GB instead of only 2GB.
