[Bug 555079] Re: supertux2 crashed with SIGSEGV in __dynamic_cast()

2018-03-07 Thread Roy Jamison via ubuntu-bugs
This was fixed in 2014. Given Xenial pulls a 2015+ version from
upstream, this should be fixed, so marking it as such.

[Bug 1717388] [NEW] Duplicate lines created when copying csv file from a windows shared folder through Virtualbox

2017-09-14 Thread Roy Jamison
Public bug reported:

Running: Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS
System: Virtualbox VM

When copying a large csv file (30-40 columns with strange characters, null
bytes, etc.) from a shared folder with windows through vbox to Ubuntu, the data
is corrupted in a strange way.
Some of the lines are repeated further down. The original csv still in the
shared folder opens fine, so this doesn't appear to be a problem with
LibreOffice or Ubuntu's ability to view shared files, it looks like a copying
error with nautilus.

Copying using 'cp' through the terminal works without issue.

[Bug 1256058] Re: merge microcom 2012.06.0-3 (universe) from debian unstable

2013-12-03 Thread Roy Jamison
I didn't realise I had to ask the last uploader, apologies for that,
don't want to step on toes. Was of the assumption, the quicker it was
merged/synced the better but will remember this for future reference.

Also, hadn't realised about the debian debdiff, must've tab-
autocompleted the wrong one in bash, my bad!

[Bug 1256038] Re: Please merge msva-perl 0.9.2-1 (universe) from debian unstable

2013-11-28 Thread Roy Jamison
msva-perl (0.9.2-1ubuntu1) trusty; urgency=low

  * Merge from Debian unstable. Remaining changes:
- Provide an upstart user session job. It works like this:
  - Start monkeysphere-validation-agent before starting the session (on
starting xsession-init)
  - Because msva-perl stays in the foreground, we can't export its
environment variable (which it prints on standard output).
  - It also has a mode in which it can take a child to run. The agent keeps
running as long as the child is running.
  - Provide a child which runs `initctl set-env' to set the environment
variable.
  - It turns out that upstart continues the job started as soon as it has
executed the main script. This means that the session is started before
the `initctl set-env' has had a chance to run. So make the child script
emit an event after running set-env which a *second*, empty, job
(msva-block) waits for and blocks the session start.

[Bug 1254779] [NEW] Sync xorp 1.8.5-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2013-11-25 Thread Roy Jamison
Public bug reported:

Please sync xorp 1.8.5-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
  * Build on all architectures again, accidentally dropped in sync.
  * add build failure with GCC 4.7 work around from debian
- debian/rules, debian/control: build with gcc-4.6
  * add build failure with GCC 4.7 work around from debian
- debian/rules, debian/control: build with gcc-4.6
  * Merge from debian unstable. Remaining changes:
+ Build with -U_FORTIFY_SOURCE instead of -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=0

Builds fine in trusty

Changelog entries since current trusty version 1.8.5-1.1ubuntu1:

xorp (1.8.5-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Remade the previous work around to build with GCC 4.7 and 4.8, now use
only cpp-4.6.
  * Fix bashism on bgp_xrl_shell_funcs.sh and fea_xrl_shell_funcs.sh
scripts (Closes: #690647).
  * Make init.d more LSB compliant (Closes: #693776).

[Bug 189090] [NEW] [needs-packaging] ManDVD

2008-02-04 Thread Roy Jamison
Public bug reported:

ManDVD is a tool to create DVD videos playable in any DVD Player. It
boasts features such as chapter editing, menu creation, buttons, and
more in a very easy to use interface, much like Nero.

I think this being brought into Ubuntu would make so many people's lives easier
when making DVDs instead of using Devede, K3b or Brasero, there are more
features and options, and it's REALLY easy to use

Link : http://www.getdeb.net/app/ManDVD

This is already built for Feisty and Gutsy in 32 and 64 bit versions,
any chance we could have this in Hardy, and supported by the community?

Thanks :o)

[Bug 60985] Re: There is a new version out

2008-01-29 Thread Roy Jamison
Please see http://projects.raphnet.net/#festalon

Note the following :

Festalon is a player for .nsf files (since version 0.5.5, it plays HES
too). It can be built as a standalone command line player, as a xmms
plugin or a winamp plugin. It was created and maintained by xodnizel.

Update Feb 2005: Xodnizel is still working on festalon and he has sent
me a new release so I can release in on this page

ALSO : http://sourceforge.net/projects/festalon/ (404 error)

The project is no longer going.

[Bug 118529] Re: file transfer to usb mobile device causes file explorer (nautilus?) to lock up

2008-01-28 Thread Roy Jamison
After looking at messages it appears that what you tried to do was put a
file that was too big for the SD card, is this the case? And if so, it
should know how big it has to be, and if too small, warn the user
without causing a breakage. Also I am now on Hardy Alpha so I cannot
confirm the problem I had with the transfers.

[Bug 186397] Re: Please add Gpredict 0.9 to Hardy

2008-01-27 Thread Roy Jamison
I have looked at your output, the problem seems to be naming conventions
e.g. this expects gtk+-X.x whereas Ubuntu uses gtk2.0-binver-2.10.0,
changing this in the configure file (or control if debian package)
should fix the problem. If you're unsure which packages you need, have a
look in Synaptic, and search e.g. gtk - it should give you an idea.

[Bug 184685] Hardy alpha 3 - Error while deleting deleted items

2008-01-20 Thread Roy Jamison
Public bug reported:

Upgraded from 7.10. When trying to empty deleted items, dialog appears
with Error while deleting.

Cannot be deleted because you do not have permissions to modify its
parent folder.

No user permissions have been changed, and this is the Admin account,
not a normal user - nothing changed permission-wise since the upgrade.

[Bug 108185] Re: Adept crashes if Java license agreement is not accepted

2008-01-13 Thread Roy Jamison
I can also confirm this.

It should not break Adapt, but it does if user does not scroll to bottom
of Java licence agreement and tick the box.

Present in Kubuntu 7.10 with latest updates (up to 13th Jan 2008)

[Bug 159821] Installing MP3 support crashes Amarok

2007-11-03 Thread Roy Jamison
Public bug reported:

Kubuntu 7.10 Live CD installation

After installing normally, and trying to play an MP3 file through
Amarok, it asks to go and get the required MP3 codecs. It fails and
crashes itself after clicking Yes, and it reports that the package
databse is already in use, when it isn't. Adept is not running, or
Synaptic or anything which can be seen to be using it. This also happens
AFTER rebooting, just in case it was locked for some reason, but the
same problem again.

KDE backtrace if it helps (after Amarok crashes) :
