[Bug 1139358] Re: U+2E2A through U+2E2C glyphs swapped

2013-03-02 Thread Roy Wellington
Seems the mixup is in FreeSans, so changing package to that.

** Package changed: ubuntu-font-family-sources (Ubuntu) = fonts-
freefont (Ubuntu)

Ah, yes, mine shows me FreeSans as well for all of those characters. (I
wasn't sure if Character Map did some sort of fallback if the character
didn't exist.)

[Bug 1139358] [NEW] U+2E2A through U+2E2C glyphs swapped

2013-03-01 Thread Roy Wellington
Public bug reported:

The following code points in the Ubuntu font have their glyphs swapped
around. Opening character map, selecting Ubuntu for the font, and
looking at the following code points, gets you the following:

(each of these is what shows in the status bar / what I see)
• U+2E2A TWO DOTS OVER ONE DOT PUNCTUATION / I see four dots, arranged in a
square.
• U+2E2B ONE DOT OVER TWO DOTS PUNCTUATION / I see two dots over one dot
(three dots in an equilateral triangle, one tip points down).
• U+2E2C SQUARED FOUR DOT PUNCTUATION / I see one dot over two dots (three
dots in an equilateral triangle, one tip points up).

Visiting this site: http://codepoints.net/U+2E2C also seems to exhibit
the problem. The page is labeled U+2E2C SQUARED FOUR DOT PUNCTUATION
but the large glyph to the left is three dots in a triangle. However,
some of the smaller links in the table below are correct: four dots in a
square. These links appear to be images, whereas the others are just
text.

According to http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U2E00.pdf Character Map
is telling me the right things for these code points.

** Affects: ubuntu-font-family-sources (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
