[Bug 2067579] Re: Webcam not working

2024-06-07 Thread Saddam Hijazi
Thanks, I have deleted the modules using dkms and now these are the
modules info

$ modinfo intel_ipu6
filename:   /lib/modules/6.5.0-1023-oem/ubuntu/ipu6/intel-ipu6.ko

$ modinfo intel_vsc
filename:   /lib/modules/6.5.0-1023-oem/ubuntu/ivsc/intel_vsc.ko

$ modinfo v4l2loopback
filename:   /lib/modules/6.5.0-1023-oem/kernel/v4l2loopback/v4l2loopback.ko

under /usr/src

I have the following folders

ipu6-drivers-0.0.0  linux-hwe-6.5-headers-6.5.0-35
linux-headers-6.2.0-39-generic  linux-oem-6.5-headers-6.5.0-1023
linux-headers-6.5.0-1023-oemmatlab
linux-headers-6.5.0-35-generic  python3.10
linux-hwe-6.2-headers-6.2.0-39  v4l2loopback-0.12.7

I suspect that I have to delete the folders ipu6-drivers-0.0.0 and
v4l2loopback-0.12.7
is that right ?

One good point now is that the camera is flashing upon turning on the
computer but still not working properly.

I have run the commands you mentioned and I have got the following:

$ modinfo intel_ipu6
filename:   /lib/modules/6.5.0-1023-oem/updates/dkms/intel-ipu6.ko
description:Intel ipu pci driver

$ modinfo intel_vsc
filename:   /lib/modules/6.5.0-1023-oem/updates/dkms/intel_vsc.ko
description:Device driver for Intel VSC

I just remembered that I have tried to install the ipu6 drivers using a
git repo here:

https://github.com/jwrdegoede/ipu6-drivers

so that's why the modules are found in an another directory other than
/lib/modules/6.5.0-1023-oem/ubuntu/ipu6/ and
/lib/modules/6.5.0-1023-oem/ubuntu/ivsc/

is there a way to delete these modules ?

[Bug 2067579] Re: Webcam not working

2024-06-05 Thread Saddam Hijazi
Hi Kai-Chuan Hsieh,

Regarding the packages you listed I have searched them all and I found
that they are already installed on my PC. Regarding the kernel I typed
'uname -a' to get the kernel version and this is the output:

Linux Saddam-XPS-9320 6.5.0-1023-oem #24-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Tue
May  7 14:26:31 UTC 2024 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

so it seems the correct version but I am not sure if that is enough for
the boot thing. I would like to mention that upon booting I see some
messages but I don't recall them, if you think that matters I can try to
capture a video of that. Thanks.

[Bug 1955383] Re: Support Intel IPU6 MIPI camera on Alder Lake platforms

2024-05-29 Thread Saddam Hijazi
My camera does not work on Dell XPS 9320, Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS. The camera
can not even be found by Cheese or the webcam tester website. This is
the output of 'uname -a':

I tried to follow the commands which are posted by Stuart Pook in
comment #114 and at least after running these commands I don't see a
message saying 'failed to load kernel modules' just after booting.
However, the camera is still not found. I attach a file containing the
sources.list and sources.list.d files.
