[Bug 1666432] Re: Internet drops every few minutes on wired and wireless connection
I am also having a similar issue in Ubuntu 18.04. This happens right after opening some tabs and streams. The network icon stays there, but internet drops. Restarting the wifi doesn't solve the problem most times. The laptop is ASUS Vivobook S14. *-network description: Wireless interface product: QCA9377 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter vendor: Qualcomm Atheros physical id: 0 bus info: pci@:02:00.0 logical name: wlp2s0 version: 31 serial: 40:9f:38:db:ca:0b width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm msi pciexpress bus_master cap_list ethernet physical wireless configuration: broadcast=yes driver=ath10k_pci driverversion=4.15.0-30-generic firmware=WLAN.TF.1.0-2-QCATFSWPZ-5 ip=192.168.1.157 latency=0 link=yes multicast=yes wireless=IEEE 802.11 resources: irq:129 memory:ef20-ef3f I've also tried using a realtek wifi dongle, which solved the problem to a point. However when I use that, it fails to connect to the wifi and takes about 3-5 minutes of constant connection attempts. So I gave up on that too. I don't have this problem with my other laptops. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1666432 Title: Internet drops every few minutes on wired and wireless connection To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1666432/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1768288] Re: Ubuntu 18.04 grub install fails Asus N56v
I believe this was my mistake and I failed to try installing without EFI. However it still boggles my mind and I don't get why it fails? ** Changed in: grub-installer (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Converted to question: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-installer/+question/668459 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1768288 Title: Ubuntu 18.04 grub install fails Asus N56v To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-installer/+bug/1768288/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1768288] [NEW] Ubuntu 18.04 grub install fails Asus N56v
Public bug reported: I am trying to install Ubuntu 18.04 on my Asus N56vv laptop. I tried both USB 3 and USB 2 flash storage drives for installation and both failed. The installation fails at final step (installation of grub). I have two SSD drives on /dev/sda and /dev/sdb . Disk /dev/sda has a MS Windows 10 with its boot loader. I tried to install Ubuntu on /dev/sdb1 and the boot loader on /dev/sdb (also tried /dev/sdb1) ,failed anyway. I don't want to touch /dev/sda , as it may ruin my Win 10 installation. I had an Ubuntu 16.04 on /dev/sdb1 previously. (I will try other things and update this thread.) Maybe I'm doing something wrong (?)
