[Bug 605967] Re: System freezes when battery powered
Apparently the problem still exists in maverick. There are several people talking about it in the forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1595196 I am also experiencing freezes on 10.10 when running on battery. With 10.04 I never had that problem. The problem started the same day I upgraded so I don't think is a hardware issue. I cannot see any error on the logs. The computer just freezes and won't even respond to a REISUB. The freezes are very random, from just a few seconds after logging in to several hours I do get many of these (1 each 5 seconds) Oct 19 02:19:10 ubuntu kernel: [ 9147.643059] intel ips :00:1f.6: CPU power or thermal limit exceeded but my computer is not hot at all: santi...@ubuntu:~$ sensors acpitz-virtual-0 Adapter: Virtual device temp1: +26.8°C (crit = +100.0°C) temp2:+0.0°C (crit = +100.0°C) I have a dell studio 1558 intel i3, intel integrated gpu broadcom wifi 64bits OS, 10.10 (upgraded from 10.04.Not a fresh install) -- System freezes when battery powered https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/605967 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 103297] Re: Kernel updater doesn't update grub's menu, lst correctly
I compiled a custom kernel (2.6.21-rcX) using make-kpkg, and then installed the deb files (image and headers). The menu.lst wasnt updated to make the new kernel the default, so I change the file manually. A bit later I had some problems with the kernel so I remove it (using aptitude), and again menu.lst wasnt updated so memorytest became the default. I think that when a kernel is going to be removed, the system should see which is the default entry in the menu.lst and if the kernel being removed is placed before that entry (or is that entry), the default entry should be decreased in 2 (normal and recovery mode). Or it can decrease the default until another kernel is found if the removed kernel is the default. -- Kernel updater doesn't update grub's menu, lst correctly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/103297 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
