Indeed, the primes program uses Eratosthenes sieve using pre-calculated array of primes up to 65537, leading to possible errors (and, in this case real errors, as 65539 is also a prime) when range hits (65537+2)^2. Erm, the previous was obviously solution c), not b) =) Anyway, here's d), it uses the sieve recursively to init itself. The updated patch helps with the issue, but some kind of race still prevails. The updated test program sometimes shows and sometimes hides the bar. The updated patch doesn't fix cases which do _show() ... _hide() (where hide is called before local_notify). This rather obtrusive patch seems to fix the issue, not sure if it breaks something though; some applications may expect that ::show is not called multiple times without ::hide in between (or vice versa). This is the best/simplest solution I can think of right now.
