Public bug reported: This crash happened when I tried to install lib32 libraries which are not compatible to the current architecture. I force changed the architecture and downloaded the package for i386 architecture and force installed it. I started getting errors so I had to remove the install and revert back. Faced some issues and finally able to get system back to normal. But keep getting this error. These are done to install oracle DB in ubuntu and since oracle install needs these lib and build packages that support 32 bit lib I had to tweak and crash the system. Need to understand how better to setup Ubuntu for Oracle DB installation. especially the new versions don't support Ubuntu kernal os. [Bug 294441] Re: gnome-sound-recorder crashed with SIGSEGV in g_main_context_dispatch()
Hi, I had this issue today. I am using maverick beta. Since the bug was already existing, I think my apport did not attach the coredump (around 100MB) as the bug is already existing. What I did is this : I recorded a small audio - around 2 minutes but most of the time there was no sound. I tried to play the recording - it was okay. So I created a new window using ctrl+n and closed the old recorder window. It asked if I want to save the file for which I answer no. then the whole recorder window (both of them) crashed. I tried the same steps again couple of times and the issue recurred once. ** Changed in: gnome-media (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- gnome-sound-recorder crashed with SIGSEGV in g_main_context_dispatch() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/294441 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 625757] Re: dconf-service crashed with signal 5 in g_closure_invoke()
This might not be the exact root cause but this is what happened to me : I am in Maverick Beta on amd64. I added a new language (Tamil - India) to my list of languages. I already have English(USA) and Hindi bolnagri for a long time. I clicked on the keyboard preferences applet and clicked on "Show current layout". Suddenly the gnome screen began to represent the gnome screen from early 2000s with flat backgrounds and got a notification of this error. I had to restart the X to fix the issue.
