[Bug 997978] Re: KVM images lose connectivity with bridged network

2013-01-05 Thread Scobo
Will there be a fix for 10.04 lucid, too?
I think this bug affects me too: Windows SBS 2008 with virtio network driver on
ubuntu 10.04 lucid host loses network connection from time to time. It's not
really deterministic when this error occurs. Usually it happens when there's a
large amount of traffic sent over the network. After disabling (via VNC
console) the network card in Windows and re-enabling it, everything works fine
again, no need to reboot the VM.
Any help is appreciated, since it's a quite annoying bug... :-)

[Bug 404394] Re: qcow2 corruption regression

2009-08-13 Thread Scobo
I found a workaround: Convert your image to RAW and use this in the
meantime. This is not the best solution, but at least it prevents from
data loss...

[Bug 404394] Re: qcow2 corruption regression

2009-08-12 Thread Scobo
The same here with 1:84+dfsg-0ubuntu12.1~rc5ppa1 (Backport) from
https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-virt/+archive/ppa.

This was now problem with the old 1:62+dfsg-0ubuntu8.2 0 before the
update.

KVM Host: 2.6.24-23-server #1 SMP Wed Apr 1 22:14:30 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux
KVM Guest: 2.6.24-24-server #1 SMP Fri Jul 24 22:44:54 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux
both ubuntu 8.04 LTS, only the host with the backport-repository for kvm.

Any suggestions what to do?

[Bug 315277] [NEW] Ubuntu 8.10 freezes when unattended and recovers after 2 min

2009-01-08 Thread Scobo
Public bug reported:

Hello!

I recently upgraded from ubuntu 8.04 to 8.10 and now there's one thing
that's driving me crazy:

As long as I am working, everything is fine. When the screensaver starts and I
return to the computer after some minutes and press a key or move the mouse,
nothing happens. Another 2 minutes (125.5s, based on 4 measurements) later, the
unlock-screen appears and I can continue working.
It also happens when watching a movie with VLC, I took the time: after 323s of
not moving the mouse oder hitting the keyboard, everything freezed and 91s
later, the movie continued. The movie did not continue at the point where it
stopped, but 91s later, as if it was still running. I did not press any keys in
that time.

What is so strange about it:
- ping to the freezed computer works, I immediately get replys, so the kernel
seems not to be affected
- I cannot connect to ssh nor use any existing ssh-session on the server
- the hdd-LED is not blinking when freezed, so I assume that all running
processes are locked too

What I already tried:
- running memtest, memory is oaky
- changing the screensaver to blank screen
- turning of energy save mode for monitor
- upgrading to kernel 2.6.27-11 and latest nvidia-mods from intrepid-proposed
repository (read that in a forum)

Before upgrading to 8.10, I was working with 8.04 and did not experience
these problems.

I hope we will find out where this bug comes from and find a solution.
Please tell me if you need any log-files or more information!

Thanks in advance,

Matthias
