Re: [Bug 173768] Re: The module Monitor Display could not be loaded.

2008-02-29 Thread Sebastian Schack
Without adding/changing anything manually, it does now work for me - with
all the latest Hardy packages.

2008/2/29, Shaikailash [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

I had the same problem too...kubuntu hardy fresh installed.
I have a laptop, dell xps M1530, nvidia geforce M 8600 GT, i have used the
restricted drivers and it works, but cannot change resolutions, and so on..

I tried to add the line in the /etc/X11/xorg.conf and now it seemes to
 works. Could be helpful:

 Section ServerLayout
 Identifier Default Layout
 Screen Default Screen
 InputDevice Generic Keyboard
 InputDevice Configured Mouse
 EndSection

 Thank you

Here's my lircd.conf. It's the correct one for the remote which belongs
to my TV card (Hauppauge HVR 1100).

There's also an empty /etc/lirc/lirc-modules-source.conf

2007-09-14 Thread Sebastian Schack
dmesg | grep lirc

However, this seems rather to be a problem of IRKICK than of LIRCD. I figured
out the following:
If I don't start irkick, lircd runs fine after a sudo /etc/init.d/lircd start -
at least according to ps aux | grep lircd.
After starting irkick, lircd stops immediately.

[Bug 139301] LIRCD starts up and dies right away

2007-09-13 Thread Sebastian Schack
Public bug reported:

Whenever I start the LIRC-Demon it dies after a split second for,
apparantly, no reason. This is also indicated by IRKICK which shows,
right after the start of LIRCD, that it is connected to the LIRC demon
and one second later it tells me that the link between the two has been
disconnected.

Installed packages are:
kdelirc_4%3a3.5.7-1ubuntu4_i386.deb
lirc_0.8.2-0ubuntu5_i386.deb
lirc-modules-source_0.8.2-0ubuntu5_all.deb

I normally report bugs using apport. However, apport doesn't seem to
recognize the dying of LIRCD so I had to do this manually.

Please tell me which outputs you need. Since this is reproduceable, I'll
be able and happy to provide them.

Didn't have a chance, actually. After telling me what had failed during
the upgrade process and asking me to submit these reports to launchpad
(which I did), the install routine simply quit, leaving me alone with my
Feisty Fawn.

Right now I'm writing this from a fresh Gutsy Installation - from the
