[Bug 2067147] [NEW] ubuntu 22.04 startup application settings not work

I use Startup Application Settings at Ubuntu-22.04.

gnome-terminal -- sh /home/nakasima/xx.sh

but ubuntu-22.04 could not startup gnome-terminal, then sometimes hang up.
I fonud this situation, I use logout/login to recover this.

Thank you.

By changing the steps below, I was able to play midi on the game on
wine.

from: timidity -iAD -B2,8 -Os1l -s 44100
to:   timidity -iA &

However, I am not satisfied with the wine game sound on ubuntu-22.04.4 overall.
The sound is distorted in parts other than midi and does not sound like 
ubuntu-20.04.
I don't think this is a timidity issue.

but not work too.

I investigate mypathes.sf2 that is written in wine wiki.

timidity -iAD -B2,8 -Os1l -s 44100 -x'soundfont
/usr/share/midi/sf2/mypatches.sf2 order=1'

https://wiki.winehq.org/MIDI

/usr/share/midi/sf2/mypatches.sf2 is nothing in my PC.
then I rewirte timidity command as below using ubuntu-20.04.6 environment

timidity -iAD -B2,8 -Os1l -s 44100

then work fine.
so I update ubuntu-22.04.4 environment, but do not work too.

Today, I test ubuntu-22.04.4 + wine + timidity, but do not work, midi no
sound

(1) timidity setup

sudo apt update
sudo apt-get -y install timidity

and this command set into ~/.profile

timidity -iAD -B2,8 -Os1l -s 44100 -x'soundfont
/usr/share/midi/sf2/mypatches.sf2 order=1'

(2) wine setup

sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
sudo apt update
sudo apt -y install wine32
wine --version
winecfg

I user windows98

and also setup winetricks for fonts install.

sudo apt -y install winetricks

(3) win98 PC game install and run

display log

The ubuntu installer has changed, and if the partition is msdos, only MBR is 
used.
Up to 22.04, I was able to install it on PBR and multi-boot it.
Please support PBR boot in 24.04 as well.

Hi,

I reboot PC, and I want to login PC, But I cannot login for password error.
I check key input from keyboard, I found key mapping different.
so I add Settings -> Region & Language and remove the "Japanese" item,
then it is ok.
Japanese environment need "Japanese" and "Japanese (Mozc)"

I use keyboard that is HHKB Lite2.

Hi,

I found article that is fonts-Takao.
https://kledgeb.blogspot.com/2022/05/ubuntu-2204-135-takaoui.html

and I install fonts-Takao using apt install fonts-takao.

then linespacing problem is clear.
ubuntu-20.04 use Monospace Regular 12 and ubuntu-22.04 use Monospace 12,
but width of the font is differrent.
I want to use Monospace regular, and teach me how to install it.

Hi,

I used ubuntu-20.04.4 , ibus-mozc and firefox 99.0.
In web site, I input Japanese and English alternately sometimes.

Recentory, I change Japanese to English using hankaku/zenkaku key.
and I input English sentence.
then I return Japanese to push hankaku/zenkaku key.
but I could not input Japanesei.
in top menu, status changed to Japanese.

in this situation, other applicaiton(test editor) could input Japanese.
So, I input Japanese text in text editor, then copy & paste web page in firefox.

today, I found it, I click in top menu Japanese (Mozc), then I can input
japanese.

The line spacing cannot be reduced even if the font is changed.
The current line spacing setting is 1, and this value cannot be changed to 0.8 
etc.
How to change line spacing can be reduced.

Hi,

I install ubuntu-22.04-dektop-amd64.iso, and I checked line spacing.
I installed ubuntu-22.04-desktop-amd64.iso using English.
line spacing is well, not problem.

then I install Japanese using command.

sudo apt update
sudo apt -y install language-pack-ja-base language-pack-ja ibus-mozc
sudo localectl set-locale LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 LANGUAGE="ja_JP:ja" 

line spacing is bad

Did the usage change in ubuntu 22.04?
It seems that the line spacing changes according to the language setting.
Currently, I am using it in an English environment to use the same line spacing 
as ubuntu 20.04.

This PC has a Geforce 8600GT and Firefox will not work unless performance

but I tested ubuntu-22.04-desktop-amd64.iso( 2022-04-19 ), it is not work.

First I install Japanese environment from jammy-desktop-amd64.iso 2022-04-16 
and 2022-04-19.
and I want to change home directory name from Japanese to English to use command
LANG=C xdg-user-dirs-gtk-update
but not success

Second I install English environment from jammy-desktop-amd64.iso 2022-04-19.
and I added Japanese environment. 
Reboot system, panel displayed that do you want to use home directory Japanese 
or English,
it is same  LANG=C xdg-user-dirs-gtk-update command.
and it work fine.

however I install only one time, something may have failed.

I installed jammy-desktop-amd64.iso 2022-04-16 version by selecting Japanese.
ubuntu-20.04, after installing the English version, I added a Japanese 
environment,
but it has easier.

However, the setting panel does not appear even if I execute the command
to change the Japanese directory name of the HOME directory.

LANG=C xdg-user-dirs-gtk-update

As for the execution result, both Japanese and English direcotres
remained.

and I add to install Fcitx-mozc, it is fail.

I reinstall ubuntu-20.04.1, japanese, xcape.
then I switch English and Japanese environment
using R-alt and L-alt key by en-keyboard.

I use this environment.

I change grub 2.04 paramater to add nomodeset.
but nothing occure.
I boot up ubuntu-20.04.1 usb,
then I challenge boot up ubuntu-20.04.1 iso from disk,
grub 2.04 linux line add to nomodeset.
