[Bug 1874217] Re: [nvidia] Dual monitor setup with secondary monitor in portrait-right mode cause tiled windows to occupy 1.5 monitors

2020-07-04 Thread Sledge Hammer
Probably related:

On Ubuntu 20.04 I can only rotate my right display using the "NVidia X Server
Settings"-app.
But although I save the configuration using the "Save to X Configuration
File"-button,
the rotation setting is reset to landscape after signing out or rebooting.

Searching for this issue reveals dozens of new posts complaining about portrait
mode not
working anymore so maybe the bug priority could be increased? Many thanks

[Bug 1872001] Re: 5.3.0-46-generic - i915 - frequent GPU hangs / resets rcs0

2020-04-30 Thread Sledge HaMMeR
Can confirm the issue ("Resetting rcs0 for hang on rcs0") is still
around using kernel 5.3.0-51-generic (ubuntu 18.04 LTS, HP i7 Envy
laptop). However, it seems to me a lot less frequent, only happened once
over the last couple hours.

With that being said, I can see the "Package temperature above
threshold, cpu clock throttled" now as well and quite often too :(

2020-04-29 Thread Sledge HaMMeR
@Uwe Terborg (madmax1403) #88

I'm passively reading along, and AFAIK there is no official/proper fix yet.
In the meantime, boot from kernel 5.3.0-45-generic
