[Bug 876897] Re: Changing Default Application for Music/Video/Photos has no effect on some registered types
I'd like to get used to dash. It makes the hassle of opening up nautilus and double clicking on files go away. I remember I didn't used to have this problem. But if there's not a fix then I guess I'll have to stick with what I know. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/876897 Title: Changing Default Application for Music/Video/Photos has no effect on some registered types To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-control-center/+bug/876897/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 876897] Re: Changing Default Application for Music/Video/Photos has no effect on some registered types
Is there a quick fix for this? I tried entering xdg-mime default totem.desktop audio/x-mp3 to make Dash launch totem for my mp3s but it still launches RhythmBox.
[Bug 773466] Re: libva1 trying to open /usr/lib/dri/nvidia_drv_video.so ends with segmentation fault
I'd had the same issue with vdpau and vlc. I'm running a Geforce GT 430 with the proprietary driver 270.41.19. To solve I recompiled the latest vlc from source (I believe I manually installed a copy of libva as well) and everything is working fine now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/773466 Title: libva1 trying to open /usr/lib/dri/nvidia_drv_video.so ends with segmentation fault To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/libva/+bug/773466/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I'm getting the same error when I compile the kernel using make-kpkg. Fix seems to have worked. [Bug 173235] Feature Request for Hardy: Having Desktop Effects enabled with power, but disabled when running off the battery (for laptop users)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz I would like to see this option enabled for Hardy if possible. The topic pretty much sums it up. What I would like is to be able to enable desktop effects for my laptop, but if I disconnect the power cable I obviously want to conserve battery usage so it would be nice if the window manager would default back to metacity. Then if I regained power it should start up compiz again. I think this would be a nice option for us laptop users. I tried to achieve this myself, but it didn't quite work. [Bug 128448] Re: gnome-terminal crashes on start
Getting the same problem. Running latest gutsy build and getting the latest updates. Bug is easily reproduced. Always crashes when running the gnome-terminal command with the same error message. [Bug 41979] Re: xserver-xorg crashes when handling newer nvidia cards
Oh ok, didn't think this would be a monitor issue. I have an HP Pavilion MX70. Its a 19 CRT. If you still need it I can find out what resolution Ubuntu defaults to when first booting up, but its not a widescreen so the aspect ratio should be 4:3. -- xserver-xorg crashes when handling newer nvidia cards https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/41979 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 41979] Re: xserver-xorg crashes when handling newer nvidia cards
Wow that's weird. Actually, I think I might've tested the feisty beta or something. I just popped in the final release and tried to test out the default install (instead of safe graphics) and, lo and behold, everything worked fine! Yay its finally fixed! This bug can be closed. [Bug 41979] Re: xserver-xorg crashes when handling newer nvidia cards
just tested, same result. here's a pic of it if that helps. http://img151.imageshack.us/my.php?image=cimg1380bc7.jpg now at first it just has the green and tan bars and the hard drive light is showing that its being accessed (i guess in this case its the cd drive since its a livecd). then after like a minute the light is not showing and the other discoloration shows. normally i use the safe video option when booting with the ubuntu livecd and that works. then i'm able to install the proprietary nvidia kernel modules. i hit ctrl+alt+backspace to end the xserver, but instead of being dropped to a terminal login or anything it shows the previous services that started and sits there. so i can't really get the xserver log (looking back now i guess i could try to login how i normally do with the safe video option, switch out vesa with nv in the xorg.conf, restart the xserver, and then be able to kill the xserver and get to the terminal. i'll try to do that some other time so i can get you the logs) here's my video card chipset info btw: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV41 [GeForce 6800 GS] (rev a2) -- xserver-xorg crashes when handling newer nvidia cards https://launchpad.net/bugs/41979 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
