[Bug 1772348] [NEW] HP Laserjet M1212nf MFP also affected
Public bug reported: Scanimage -L returns: device `hpaio:/net/HP_LaserJet_Professional_M1212nf_MFP?zc=NPI6A5943' is a Hewlett-Packard HP_LaserJet_Professional_M1212nf_MFP all-in-one as it always has when it was working. Had the same problem in the beginning with Ubuntu 17.04, but then somewhere along the correction stream it got magically "fixed" and started working with simple-scan as well as xsane. Using a dual boot to the current version allowed by the ARCH developers, the scanner has, and still does, work. I do a pacman -Syu on ARCH at least once a week, so I can attest to the "current" version of ARCH. ** Affects: sane-backends (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1772348 Title: HP Laserjet M1212nf MFP also affected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-backends/+bug/1772348/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 192176] Re: Scanner output always JPEG compressed
I found this thread after scanning to create PDFs for emailing with my recently purchased HPLaserJet M1212nf MFP. The quality of text scans are terrible. I thought I had a kludgy solution from the 2010 posts, but since I'm using hplip3.14.1 I see that solution is no longer even viable. I tried changing resolutions to no avail, but now I understand why scans are quicker no than with HP LaserJet 5 that this printer replaced. I thought it was a technological advancement. Ha! I would really like to have better quality than faster speeds. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192176 Title: Scanner output always JPEG compressed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/192176/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1249670] [NEW] Since 3.2.0-56-generic update thumbnail-factory fails to generate thumbnails
Public bug reported: I have a collection of DivX (*.avi containerized) files. Thumbnail s for these files fail to be created after they are written to an external device, the device removed, and, later, the device reinstalled. Reading the gnome forums I saw suggestions to remove DivX support from totem, the thumbnail generator. I've seen several suggestions (and applied one) to work around, but the workarounds have to be employed each time the workstation is booted. I tried to install a depricated version of gstreamer but ran into "dependancy hell," so aborted. I'd like to see DivX support reinstated in gnome or the thumbnail factory supported by another program other than totem that still supports DivX. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1249670 Title: Since 3.2.0-56-generic update thumbnail-factory fails to generate thumbnails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1249670/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
